Out of Control//mutant au, closed
Courfeyrac usually made a point to keep his powers in check.
People weren't exactly very open to the idea that certain people had mutations, powers, that let them do things a normal person shouldn't, he'd found that out the hard way as a child, when he couldn't control his very well, and he would send his toys flying across the room, or his things would just hover a bit when he got upset, or even just excited. His father had been horrified to learn his son was so different, and in turn furious, and Courfeyrac's powers sparked whenever he'd gotten upset, and he was forced to learn to control him, his father made sure nobody would know, as far as everyone knew his child was normal. Anyone who knew was paid off or threatened, after all nobody was allowed to tarnish the great de Courfeyrac name.
But now Courfeyrac was on his own, living in Paris, and things had been okay, he'd slipped up a few times but it hadn't been that bad. He'd even managed to make plenty of friends, he was well liked, it was great, but one problem that came with that was he was also attractive and people thought they could come up to him whenever they wanted, like right now. He'd gone out to the bar for a drink, when some guys had walked up, cornering him, and he couldn't get them to back off and he looked over and noticed the glass he'd been drinking from hovering, as well as an ashtray and a couple other bottles and things that were near him, and he started panicking, because he was going to be found out and he couldn't stop it because freaking out was only making it worse.
"Please, just go away." he said, trying to keep his voice steady, starting when one of the bottles leapt forward without him consciously meaning it to, thankfully missing its intended target, crashing to the ground instead, and he froze, holding his hands out, hearing one of the guys snickering, calling him a "freak" under his breath and that definitely was not helping. "P-please, leave me alone!"
