Well now, this is odd.
Hadn’t there been a courthouse in the center of the town square?
Surely there had, hadn’t there? Last time that such an investigation had to be made?
Well... where on earth did this ROMAN COLISEUM come from instead?
Standing exactly where the courthouse had been? All without a trace of sound as well - appearing just as suddenly as the previous building had come to be.
As if it had always been there all along.
It’s odd though - the Roman Coliseum is nothing than a mere CRUMBLING RUIN, is it not?
Remnants of faded glory, history and splendor of an era long past?
Then why does this one look as if it was it’s GRAND OPENING DAY?
It’s stone walls circled high without a speck of corrosion or damage, centuries of ruin wiped away as if time had never passed.
An odd sight it must surely make - splendor of a culture long since past,
untouched by the hand of time which affected the rest of this decaying town.
Whether one wished to arrive at the misplaced building or not,
those who straggled would find themselves summoned soon enough - unceremoniously whisked away into the arena, far from whatever they had been doing. This investigation had gone on long enough.
That woman was waiting for them,
already having made herself comfortable upon the emperor’s platform.
( where else would she be, in a place like this? )
❝ Goodness, took you all long enough didn't it? Come now, we haven't got all day - and I am a very busy woman you know... but ah.. isn't this arena so fitting ? Plenty of people played games of life and death right here in this very ring but, hmm that's getting off topic. ❞
A light chuckle from the woman, and the snap of a fan -
the entrance ways to the coliseum would go dark as the night, blanketed fully with a jittering sense of fear. No way in, no way out. Not until the this little game had ended.
❝ All of you remember how this works from last time correct ? Right here in this amphitheater of death, it's time for a TRIAL. Remember, you only have one chance to guess correctly... otherwise.. well, WHEN IN ROME.. ❞
TRIAL 2, START; COURT IS NOW IN SESSION!

How trials work:
TRIALS WILL BE ASK / THREAD BASED. You can thread with suspects / send them asks / post thoughts & observations & etc in the tags / so on. We don’t have time to sit down in a chat room to moderate things, so this is how it’s gotta be! Trials will last as long as we need them to in order to come to a conclusion SO DON’T RUSH!! We’ll give you multiple days to fully form your opinions and cast a vote. We strongly, strongly encourage you not to jump to conclusions too quickly. Take your time. THINK.
When the trial has reached its “peak” voting will be opened!
After this happens, and when you are READY to cast your vote for who you believe the murderer is, send an ask to this side blog & we will tally the votes. If you get it right, you win. If you get it wrong… well… you die. Bad ending… yikes.
Yukari will reveal pieces of evidence as the trial goes along that no other characters (except the murderer or the muse she’s calling out for funsies, ofc) would know about. Do with it what you will, but I don’t suggest asking her to elaborate. She may get annoyed if you do. Take what she gives you & theorize from it. That being said, there are several pieces from each case you are probably still missing. Give it time.
That being said, you may ask Yukari to confirm / deny certain pieces of evidence and whether or not you are correct in your assumptions about something that happened. She may or may not answer you, depending on the question. A fickle one truly.
During the trial period, I STRONGLY suggest threading with the top suspects or sending them asks and questioning them about anything and everything. Remember, THE MURDERER IS ALLOWED TO LIE THEIR BUTT OFF. Knowing what to ask Yukari confirmation for and what to keep to yourself to bring up later is crucial, because there may or may not be inconsistencies that start to pop up…
Yukari still will not confirm alibis unless they directly relate to her. If your character was asleep or unaccounted for, they are ON THEIR OWN.
Note Yukari may not help you at one point because she feels the evidence may end the trial too quickly; but she will bring it back up eventually. This is a GAME to her after all, and she expects to be entertained.
Do not make assumptions about the evidence/events. EVERYTHING IN THIS PORTION OF THE CHAPTER MUST BE CONFIRMED BY YUKARI TO BE CONSIDERED THE TRUTH. NO ASSUMPTIONS ARE CONSIDERED TO BE CORRECT UNLESS WE SAY SO. YUKARI IS THE ONLY MUSE WHO YOU CAN ONE HUNDRED PERCENT BELIEVE AT THIS POINT. ( poor you– )
As stated before, while Yukari is a well known liar ( whether your muses figure that out or not is another story though. ) She will NEVER lie about EVIDENCE during a trial, for the sake of fairness.
You’re encouraged to thread among one-another & send asks back and forth. Communicate. COMMUNICATE. You’re seriously going to need to listen to every opinion and detail of every case. Ask characters who presented evidence to restate evidence; see if they remembered something else (confirm w/ us first if they DO remember something else. New evidence can’t be posted unless I give the okay.)
We know we said we won’t handhold you, but no matter how confusing things get, trust that we’re going to at least try to nudge you in the right direction at times, even though we’ll turn around and nudge you falsely later on here & there. WE WANT YOU TO SUCCEED IN THIS TRIAL & WE ARE YOUR MAIN RESOURCE HERE. Keep in mind we may be dropping clues even if you don’t realize it… PAY ATTENTION TO THE THINGS YUKARI SAYS.
HAVE MERCY ON US. We can’t constantly be answering questions. You may have to wait a while for answers. We’ll get to you. Remember to pay the suspects and various witnesses plenty of attention too. (Note; suspects & witnesses, if you need help answering a question given to you by another muse, come to us.)
Keep in mind we all have lives. Don’t rush anyone! We’ll handle time management for cases behind the scenes.
I’ll be using the tag DIPP; TRIAL 2 for this section along with the main verse tag.
