i found this book sitting in a shelf in the vacation appartment we stayed in autumn and upon seeing it, i fell for it head over heels 😍 the photographer dirk alvermann dedicated this photo collection to his wife, and the pictures of her are the most touching, most intimate, most loving images you could ever make of someone you love. there are other subjects, motives, people and sceneries inside this book, he captured life in the GDR, he even traveled the world quite a bit, went to spain, algeria, albania, england, west germany. his work was full of emotion and he captured the zeitgeist in a thrilling and electrifying way. even though i had never heard of him before, i feel like he must've reached some fame at some point, some of his books sell at prices around 200 euro. i expressed my desire to take this gem home with me to the landlords for a monetary donation, but they offered it as a gift instead ❤️ now i feel so incredibly lucky to possess this and leaf through it often. perhaps i will share more images in the future, i discovered that everytime i open the book i discover new details that speak to my heart and soul. also, this book came to me during a special time, not only was it october, autumn, my anchor season, but i have gotten to know someone special, too and now it is a reminder of the magic the world can hold, sending out signs and paraphernalia of affection, emanating rays of growth and candor. your view on life and everything around you gets widened, blossoming like a flower, with a focus on the center point of its florescence. ❤️ #dirkalvermann #photography #blackandwhite #women #intimacy #gdrartists https://www.instagram.com/p/CWNXQf2rkxi/?utm_medium=tumblr
