Slightly hazy without looking like the water in a used grout bucket, there is enough malt and slight bitterness to distance itself from the current trend. Fordham Brewing Copper Head ale. This is labeled an Amber ale, which I guess it is, but I think it might really be, more specifically, an altbier. Altbiers are fairly rare in the US craft beer world which is unfortunate since I think they would have fairly universal appeal. This example is pretty solid, with a nice nutty malty backbone, some mildly earthy hops, and high drinkability.
