IT BEGINS...
Well fellow travellers its that time of year when the snow starts to fall and our dreams of a white christmas become reality until it melts on christmas eve.
This is a travel update:
Stansted Airport's runway is currently OPEN but you need to check with your airline if your flight is running today. If your flight is not flying today CONTACT THE AIRLINE to re arrange your flight and DON'T LEAVE FOR THE AIRPORT. The last thing Stansted wants is more passengers at the airport when they don't need to be there.
Luton Airport's runway is also open but the same applies above. Check with your airline.
Train wise... this is taken from the National Rail website about current train disruptions. This is subject to change so before you travel check www.nationalrail.co.uk
Snow and icy conditions are causing disruption disruption to some routes around London and in the south of England.
Changes will occur in the following areas until further notice:
Southeastern network
Trains are being disrupted across the whole Southeastern network with some trains being delayed by up to 45 minutes with some trains also being cancelled.
Valid tickets will be accepted on High Speed services from any reasonable route and on London Underground
Sevenoaks - London Blackfiars (First Capital Connect)
As well as Southeastern, First Capital Connect services are also being delayed by up to 40 minutes
Woking area (South West Trains)
Trains are being delayed by up to 2 hours through Woking and trains between London Waterloo and Portsmouth Harbour are diverted via Cobham and will no longer call at Woking.
Passengers may use First Great Western, London Underground, Southern and London Buses on all reasonable routes
Reading - London Waterloo (South West Trains)
Trains are being delayed by up to 2 hours.
Passengers may use London Underground and London Buses on reasonable routes.
Redhill - Tonbridge (Southern)
There are no trains between Redhill and Tonbridge and replacement buses are being sought subject to road conditions
Lewes - Polegate (Southern)
There are no trains between Lewes and Polegate and replacement buses are being sought subject to road conditions
Passengers may use Brighton & Hove Buses on routes 12/12A ' Coaster' Brighton-Seaford-Eastbourne
As usual knowing my luck it will snow in Wiltshire and not Cheltenham which is where I currently am.
Good luck travelling today! I'm staying put!
