Directed by Wayne Cherry and styled by David Jones (Director of Design) at General Motors' Luton Design & Engineering Centre, the Vauxhall VXR (Experimental Vauxhall Research) was presented at the 1966 Geneva Motor Show. Three fully functional prototypes were built, but the car didn’t progress beyond the testing phase.
