         He approaches, concern in his gaze; some day Scott Mccall will save the world -- or DIE trying. 

     The eyes follow us, spectators at a show I don’t remember asking to be a part of. Somehow I find the lines ready for me, written on my tongue with sweet, soft ink ––

        it’s clear she’s never met Olivia Scott. my best friend is as beautiful as a summer day.  people rush to bathe under her rays, the beauty of her brilliant warmth. and then they complain that they’ve been BURNT ; it’s not her fault they don’t use protection. 

I think maybe if it were me, they would not be as cruel.          It’s UNFAIR. 

But I’m still GLAD I am not a HELEN.     But then again, I’d rather not be a JUNIPER either. ––  I’m staring down at my shoes, my soles worn thin. 

I need new shoes. 

   But I forget to ask for money, waiting for the moment when they’ll tear themselves to shreds. 

“ I’m seriously fine, Scott. I wasn’t hurt. ” Rumors have already circulated that I was taken BLOODY and BRUISED, a lifeless doll, a balloon depleted.  It was little more than a scratch, in actuality.  I look up. “ Can we walk and talk? ”     Unlike Claire, I wear my embarrassment like a secret,  it paints my mouth red,    and I swallow to keep it in.

        okay so – let me talk about my child. for some reason, i always like to kick these things off with a little background story so !! anyway. i had been stalking your greenberg blog for so long before we bumped into each other on carlos and evie. i thought you were so talented and i legit dreamed of the day i would be able to write things as beautiful as yours. a lot has changed since then, but i still sit in awe of your writing skills. i am never going to forget the day you followed me back on my lydia and i had to actually step aside for a minute because i was just so shocked. and then i found out what a nerd you are and now i wonder why i wasted my time freaking out. JUST KIDDING. but honestly, you are such a wonderful person and a terrific writer and sometimes i still have problems understanding why on earth you are my friend. but i am glad that you decided to be. i am glad that i get to witness your typos and to call you my kiddo. because i am so proud of you and how much you have grown ever since we met and i cannot wait to see just how far you will go. and one day, when you have a super popular poetry book published, i will be able to say – i have known tash since they were an eggslut.
