Cleaning Sticky Side of Screen Film
I bought 2x Disagu screen protectors from eBay (3€) for my Alcatel Idol Mini 6012D / NOS San Remo Mini. Unfortunately I misplaced the first unit and the second one got dust in it. Here’s what I did in order to completely reuse the film.
Materials: -- Credit Card -- Window cleaner spray -- Cleaning tissue for glasses or screen -- Liquid soap -- Running water
1. Move to the bathroom or any place that is free of dust (it was a terrible idea to do it in my bedroom). 2. Absolutely clean the phone screen (I used AJAX window cleaner) and make sure it’s completely dry. 3. Wash the film on both sides with a little bit of liquid soap to remove any fingerprints or particles. I placed the film over a clean towel to collect the water from the non-sticky side before moving onto the next step. 4. Carefully place the washed film, starting where your flash, speaker and other specifically located things are. When I misplaced the film for the first times, the speaker caused bubbles to appear in the upper area. 5. Use the cleaning tissue and a credit card to move away the water bubbles while catching the water with the tissue. This way you prevent any water damage in the edges of your phone. If any bubbles are still trapped, press them away using the card or your nail, firmly but gently. I bought scratch resistant screen protectors, so make sure you have the same type, or get some of those if you don’t have them. 6. Rub the screen with the cleaning tissue until it hasn’t a single bubble left.
And it’s done. But don’t expect to get it right on the first attempt, it’s not an easy task and it requires some eye catch and attention in order to work, but it does work.
Good luck cleaning your screen protectors!
