Two days ago, hm.... Selena muses as she racks her brain for an acceptable answer, “I was inside our apartment studying for an upcoming exam. My roommate walked out the door around 5 PM and I didn’t see her again after that.” The student unconsciously fiddles with the hem of her left sleeve while saying “studying for an upcoming exam”.
The flash-drive weighs heavily inside her sweater pocket. She wants to give it to the attorney so that her roommate could receive justice, so to speak. [Justice cannot be his actual last name.] But in this Dark Age of Law, Selena wants to know if she can trust him with the case, to actually reach the conclusion that she has already figured out with the information burning in her pocket.
Her eyes glance to her right, at a certain impatient specter, for a brief moment and sneezes into the crook of her arm. Selena quietly apologizes for her dust allergies as she doesn’t maintain eye-contact, casting them downward.
