Knowledge was power.  There was nothing more invigorating than knowing that she aced a test that most would have deemed difficult.  Laurel was proud of her distinct way of looking at case studies, the way she could always find a solution.  Walking towards the cafe nearest campus, she scrolled through her phone to make sure she wasn’t needed anywhere.  Just as she was about to walk inside, she bumped into someone. “Sorry. I guess they need a warning for no texting and walking.”

santiago had just sniffed two lines, it was as if he was in a good place now. he was sitting on the living room floor with his back resting against the couch. when he heard the keys dingle he panicked and quickly got rid of the drugs, putting them under the couch. “hey babe--- i uh--- i thought you were working late.” he said mentally telling himself to chill.

CADE HAD NO BALLS, and everyone in their entire college knew it. especially river. so it wasn’t exactly shocking that he was standing here, cajoling the other into talking to the stranger that had caught his eye. “ c’mon, move it string bean.” he murmurs towards the lanky male. honestly, rain’s just trying to help cade out, and force him out of his comfort zone. he’s not being malicious for once. and it was fun to watch cade squirm.

RIVER WAS FULL OF SHIT, and cade was sure it was obvious. sure, the blush painted on his cheeks seemed to send the signal that river wasn’t wrong, and he wasn’t. but cade was actually friends with the person river was referencing. he didn’t want to ruin that. but river wasn’t going to leave him alone until he did, so cade looked up, and with a defeated sigh, walked over to them. “ hey--um, you look really nice today .”
