more discord TME redux plotting dump bc it didn’t happen in the TME channel and I need to find later:
hm. Vivienne’s Celene’s court enchanter. would she stay loyal to Celene or switch sides in the new AU?or was she not there in TME
Hmmm. Vivienne seems to gravitate to order and control, and in the new AU Celene no longer has control.
yeah, that’s what I thought. But Gaspard wouldn’t use a court enchanter like Celene does, I wouldn’t think
No, definitely not.
So I feel like Vivienne’s likely to fall back and keep her distance to see where the pieces fall, and step in when she feels she can influence things on the winning side.
And she can safely do that once the mage rebellion begins.
She probably still joins the Inquisition but much more wary about it, likely
She can claim she had more pressing concerns.
I feel like she joins the Inquisition because it clearly is going to influence the world, and she wants a hand in that.
yeah so she’ll join despite Elgara being a voice and hand in the rebellion causing chaos in Orlais
Order will be achieved with the Inquisition, and here she can sway it
means, if Elgara knew she was Celene’s and then left, her initial opinion may not be very high but it could get there
Yeah. She is likely to be wary of Elgara because she’s a clear force for chaos, but the Inquisition is also - at the moment - the best possibility for re-establishing order.
I feel like there’s some too polite heat between them at the beginning but it tones down as time wears on.
JaydenYesterday at 1:39 PM
I want the new AU to end in lesbians trio but idk how to develop that
LeFoxYesterday at 1:40 PM
Anything is possible with lesbians. o uo
JaydenYesterday at 1:41 PM
I mean yeah but I dunno how to like. Get from point A to point B in a realistic way.
LeFoxYesterday at 1:43 PM
Well, Celene and Briala presumably don’t break up in this AU, so that’s one branch. Then you could have Elgara and Briala get close and deal with the frustration Briala has there because Celene Gave Up Everything For Her, only for Celene and Elgara to also get close, and then the solution is lesbians.
JaydenYesterday at 1:44 PM
“And then the solution is lesbians” I love you
LeFoxYesterday at 1:46 PM
JaydenYesterday at 1:47 PM
Elgara probably doesn’t get that close to Celene until she’s Inquisitor so she Knows The Burden Of Command but getting close to Briala is a matter of right place, right time, right words.
LeFoxYesterday at 1:55 PM
Yeah. It’s a slow, steady build.
JaydenYesterday at 1:57 PM
Dunno who approaches Elgara about her entering the relationship but she’d just “o 3o? That’s a possibility?”
LeFoxYesterday at 1:57 PM
Celene and Briala sitting down and having a serious conversation about it between the two of them, though
JaydenYesterday at 1:58 PM
oh absolutely. Dunno if I’d put that in the fic but it would be a side drabble
LeFoxYesterday at 1:59 PM
I think it’d be important to include in the fic if you intend to make that poly relationship a thing.
JaydenYesterday at 2:00 PM
I feel like Celene’s gonna have to come clean herself about Briala’s parents for them to be able to actually stay together. And they almost break up over it.
I dunno how high key I'mma make the relationship in the fic. If I do make it high key then yeah, I’ll add it, but if I keep the romance low key then I feel like it’d feel a little weird
LeFoxYesterday at 2:01 PM
Absolutely
She has to confess to that Maybe that’s what eventually drives Briala into Elgara’s arms
JaydenYesterday at 2:02 PM
’s what I was thinking. Elgara’s already someone Trusted and Celene drops that on Bria and she takes it to Elgara because she needs to take it to someone
LeFoxYesterday at 2:03 PM
And Celene apologizes for hiding it for so long but the damage is done
JaydenYesterday at 2:04 PM
Eventually Briala decides she’s thankful Celene told her but also tells her she’s going to have to repair the trust she’s broken. They’re not broken up but Celene’s in the doghouse
LeFoxYesterday at 2:04 PM
JaydenYesterday at 2:05 PM
I feel like freeing the elves goes some way to repairing the rift, despite those actions starting before the admittance but that’s not a personal level fix
LeFoxYesterday at 2:07 PM
No. And the deaths of her parents are kind of a big deal.
JaydenYesterday at 2:08 PM
Yeah so I dunno what Celene does to dig herself out of that hole but playing relationship councilor probably help Elgara accidentally get a foot in the door of that relationship
LeFoxYesterday at 2:08 PM
Oh definitely. She helps fix it and then finds herself as Part Of It.
JaydenYesterday at 2:09 PM
she just “Oh. o uo”
which, if I high key the romance Elgara realizing and accepting being a lesbian’s gonna have to be a Thing too bc she doesn’t realize that’s an option until Briala and Celene here or, like Sera and Jose and whatnot in Inquisition
especially being a trans lesbian
LeFoxYesterday at 2:11 PM
JaydenYesterday at 2:12 PM
Just kinda “I thought I only thought ladies were pretty bc I wanted to look like that but now that I see it’s a thing ladies are really pretty”
LeFoxYesterday at 2:13 PM
Slow dawning realization that women loving women is a thing that happens and a thing she does
“Life goals” to “……wife goals”
JaydenYesterday at 2:14 PM
she gets to adjust to Briala and Celene being in a relationship bc they hide it less and then when she’s playing therapist she realizes she is also a lesbian and it’s all “Oh no” to “Oh no”
LeFoxYesterday at 2:15 PM
Catch her talking to someone just
“Nooooooo”
“…Which one?”
“NOOOOOOOOO”
“…Oh, honey.”
JaydenYesterday at 2:16 PM
Elgara in her cups one day and someone just “Oh honey, this can’t be good for you”
LeFoxYesterday at 2:16 PM
Poor baby realizing she’s not just gay, she’s gay for two people. Two people who are already together.
JaydenYesterday at 2:17 PM
“This is Fine. It’s all Fine.”
worse is two people, already together, but almost breaking up and she’s helping the relationship stay together
LeFoxYesterday at 2:17 PM
That’s a conflict
On top of, you know, helping a civil war and a rebellion and running the Inquisition.
JaydenYesterday at 2:19 PM
she’s got so much to do and she’s only one person. At least she’s not spearheading the rebellion, just helping it a lot. But she is the Inquisitor and she can’t shirk those duties
LeFoxYesterday at 2:20 PM
Being the Inquisitor means she’s effectively holding two nations together and praying for the best
JaydenYesterday at 2:21 PM
She’s making an entire project with really cheap glue and hopping it holds
LeFoxYesterday at 2:22 PM
While trying to help some friends with their incredibly volatile science project on the side.
JaydenYesterday at 2:23 PM
she goes from being Basically Nothing to Incredibly Important
LeFoxYesterday at 2:24 PM
And she handles it… as well as can be expected
JaydenYesterday at 2:25 PM
handles it better than some
LeFoxYesterday at 2:28 PM
Handles it better than Halan, who needs Dacien to carry most of the burden
They do get better about helping him balance it, but still
JaydenYesterday at 2:29 PM
Elgara probably has her intense freak outs occasionally but keeps it mostly together. If only by faith
LeFoxYesterday at 2:30 PM
Yeah - being faithful and having the conviction that she was chosen to be here helps significantly.
JaydenYesterday at 2:31 PM
Not that that doesn’t waver when she’s freaking out about the pressure, but it helps a lot
LeFoxYesterday at 2:32 PM
Especially after it’s revealed that the Anchor isn’t holy and that it wasn’t Andraste who saved her from the Fade.
JaydenYesterday at 2:33 PM
She chooses to believe that it’s all been set in motion by the Maker but those both do cripple her faith for a little bit immediately thereafter
She doesn’t let it show when she can’t afford to, but it does
LeFoxYesterday at 2:35 PM
Yeah, ultimately she settles on “…But the Maker sent me here anyway, all things are the Maker’s plan” and that helps, but it’s still a blow.
JaydenYesterday at 2:37 PM
Yeah, and it’s something she has to process marginally on her own because she can’t show that weakness to people who need her to remain sure and strong.
LeFoxYesterday at 2:39 PM
She can show it to some people, but not many, and the number gets lower and lower as more and more people begin to look up to her.
JaydenYesterday at 2:40 PM
yeah. Once Celene and Briala’s relationship settles she probably leans on them with it sometimes, since it’d be after WEWH but not always because they dohave problems of their own
LeFoxYesterday at 2:41 PM
So many problems
Especially with trying to establish order in Orlais while also allowing for the huge political upheaval of raising elves’ social status
JaydenYesterday at 2:41 PM
And trying to do it fast enough the elves are happy but slow enough the humans don’t full on revolt
Elgara probably gives the throne a regiment or two of Inquisition soldiers on standby
LeFoxYesterday at 2:43 PM
Makes it clear where the Inquisition stands on the matter, in case there was any question.
JaydenYesterday at 2:44 PM
and she and everyone in the Inquisition and Briala and Celene can all point out the Inquisitor is an elf and chosen by the Maker and if He has sent her to do His will who are they to fight it?
LeFoxYesterday at 2:45 PM
Which gets reinforced if Leliana becomes Divine.
JaydenYesterday at 2:46 PM
and she will. So Orlais might not be happy but they’ll have to stop openly resisting
LeFoxYesterday at 2:46 PM
There’ll still be upheaval and rebellion and restlessness in the ranks, but.
JaydenYesterday at 2:48 PM
yeah but it eventually settles out. Elgara doesn’t disband the Inquisition and keeps it together to help protect the Orlesian crown and Leliana’s likely more than willing to help too. So rebellions get stopped almost before they start. restlessness is to be expected and no one’s asking them to be happy with it but allow it to happen and don’t be rude
Can you imagine Thren as a fucking noble tho
LeFoxYesterday at 2:51 PM
…Honestly Elgara would probably be pro-letting Orlais control the Inquisition from the very beginning because she trusts the people in charge.
….Also Thren as a noble is gold
JaydenYesterday at 2:53 PM
She would be pro-letting Orlais control. She’d reserve the right to break it back off if ever needed and keeping a faction of it unaffiliated to be able to help around Ferelden bc they wouldn’t take kindly to an Orlesian military helping but for the most part, yeah. She trusts those in charge of Orlais, she’s dating them, it makes sense
Thren would have to be taught a few manners before nobility but they’d elevate him first
LeFoxYesterday at 2:54 PM
God imagine adding elves to the Council of Heralds
JaydenYesterday at 2:57 PM
Chaos. They’d have to make sure the elves added are somewhat level headed
LeFoxYesterday at 2:59 PM
Oh, absolutely. Alienage elders - people accustomed to dealing with disputes, people who are likely to know many of the elves being elevated to new social status.
JaydenYesterday at 3:01 PM
people who can be patient and work around the humans’ racism and attempts at exclusion and such
They spend a lot of time reforming
LeFoxYesterday at 3:05 PM
Ohhhhh yeah. Probably the rest of their lives, honestly. It’s changing literally hundreds of years’ worth of social tradition.
JaydenYesterday at 3:07 PM
the reform’s gonna take ages but it’ll be worth it, in the end, if it doesn’t dissolve into war again.
