When we went on our AC road trip, because it was such a last minute decision, we weren't sure how to find a good rate. The day before we left, someone recommended for us to download a new app called Hotel Tonight to book a same day hotel. We downloaded it, booked our hotel that afternoon (yes as we were leaving) and it was the perfect solution! Here's how it works... Every day Hotel Tonight gets rates from hotels for inventory still open for that night but this is only good for the spontaneous hearted - you can only book for the same day. We tested it and the rates actually drop after 12:00 noon! All you have to do is download the app, put in your information, choose your city and it will display all of the hotels available, some at discounts of 70%.
