Hi. Genuine question for lesbians and non-male bisexual people (although lots of love to male bisexual people, this question just isn’t directed at you). What made you decide to identify specifically the way that you identify?
I know that lots of people consider themselves lesbians because they’re attracted to women and non-men. I also know that while many bisexual people can be attracted to all genders, not every bisexual person feels attraction to all genders, and might feel attraction to multiple genders, but not specifically all of them. It seems like there might be some overlap there with those groups of bisexual people who are attracted to multiple genders, but not men, and lesbians who are attracted to women and non-men. Just curious about how some people may have navigated that.
Queer terms and language aren’t fixed or static, and they can and have evolved and people identify and interpret things in whatever ways feel best for them. Please be respectful and aware that your personal experience or vocabulary might be different, especially with different age groups and backgrounds, from other people and please be respectful of each other. Any transphobia, homophobia, biphobia, panphobia, or other form of queerphobia won’t be tolerated.
