The resounding sound of a slap was followed by a stinging on Silas' cheek and he clenched his jaw to keep from spitting out an insult. The blond's nostrils flared as he turned back to look at his father. There was an unpleasant pounding in his ears and his vision blurred as soon as the words had left his father’s mouth. That feeling had only increased with the slap. Silas breathed in slowly and closed his eyes when he breathed out, attempting to calm himself so as to not earn another strike. He listened as it was explained to him that it was necessary he marry her; that his father's business partner believed it would only make their company stronger. And though Silas wanted nothing to do with it, he went along with it. He owed his step-father his life, and he wasn't going to disappoint him by defying his wishes.
The wedding itself was painless, though that was mostly due to the fact that Silas was half drunk. So when the moment came, he muttered a single 'I do' under the pretense that it was for the best and it was his responsibility. Only when it was his fiancee's turn to speak did he look at her with something other than indifference. Pity. He wasn't husband material and he would never be.
At the Con you should throw a roleplay seminar, with some of tumblr's best roleplayers talking about it.
That would actually be really cool! A lot of members of our committee role play and I know I’d be interested in doing it. I’ll talk to the main staff about it! Meanwhile, would anyone be interested in going to/being a part of this panel?
