i regret my last ask a little i’m not trying to start discourse or anything i just hate hypocrites so much like it’s obvious when they think of buck as #thewoman and they accuse others of doing the same thing while pretending to be above it all it’s infuriating god
anon please know that i saw it and laughed heartily. yeah there's been a lot of that and it's just so silly like everyone can pick and choose canon anyway right? esp because the age thing TO ME is just characterwise the most sensible/interesting thing like no matter how you interpret buck and eddie and their relationship apart from that, I think having eddie, the "more mature" guy actually be a little bit younger than buck makes for a very interesting choice, like it goes to show how different their life experiences have been up till now. if eddie was older than buck to me that'd just be a little bit bland like he acts more "grown-up" and then he's also older? eh I mean I guess it's fine? I guess I'm just more interested in the whole "guy who had to grow up really fast" aspect of his character and thus this just feels very fitting. and you can turn this one year age gap into a kink and you can just not address it at all, like, go wherever your dick leads you! me personally I don't rlly care for agegap kink stuff when it comes to buddie, no matter how big the gap :P
and yeah I mean I've seen some usual suspects on my periphery posting about it in ways that fascinate me. like one day canon is holy and the next it isn't I guess? I mean the 911 timeline is so stupid and convoluted anyway I legit thought we all just pick and choose what we like and occasionally cheer when something feels correct to us (and if it doesn't, we write it different). and at this point half of the discourse in this fandom is based on projection and you gotta decide for yourself when it is and when it isn't I guess :,)
