Look at that progress though!! 😁😲 Talk about a redraw this challenge. The first sketch was drawn around 2014/15. I'm so incredibly excited for things to come. I've been working on new ideas and then some. #thelittlemermaid #disneyremake #fanart #comicdesign #ariel #mermaid #sing #swim #progress #artofinstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/B2-EULjgMf-/?igshid=1vn297a42o2rz

i’d like to give a huge thank you to disney for not turning jafar into a gigantic terrifying cgi snake, that would’ve made the audience scarred for life

Remake Treasure Planet you Cowards
Here’s the thing: Disney keeps remaking films that don’t need a remake. I repeat, THEY KEEP REMAKING FILMS THAT DO NOT NEED A REMAKE!
Lion King is epic and they should have left that masterpiece alone. Mulan, a classic, was butchered in it’s remake. Beauty and the Beast remake was unnecessary (although Gason’s song almost made it worthwhile).
All these amazing films that were great, remade into worse live action versions of themselves (any argument over the Sleeping Beauty remake as Maleficent being amazing is not applicable because that was more a spinoff and we all know it).
Here’s a film that fans would LOVE a remake of: Treasure Planet.
That film was, admittedly, very good. People who have seen it (myself included) all seem to agree that it didn’t/doesn’t get the acclaim it deserved/deserves. I am not an expert at marketing, so I cannot say one way or another why it failed at the box office.
So here me out on this one.
If this remake is well done and does fantastic at the box office? Fans of the original will be pleased that a film they enjoy was remade well and finally got the attention it deserves.
If this the remake is terrible? Fans of the original will be pleased because it brought attention to a film they enjoy and, hopefully, will make others who are unaware of the film notice the original and watch it.
If the remake bombs at the box office? Well... fans can’t be any more disappointed since the original did that too. In fact, they/we would probably just be exited a remake was made at all (because that would show that Disney achnowledges the OG movie at all).
In conclusion, a remake of Treasure Planet would be enjoyed by fans no matter how it performs or how well/poor it is made.
Just remake Treasure Planet you cowards!
