what is one of the most meaningful songs that you think tablo/epik high wrote?
Run
as many of you already know, run is my favourite song, so i might be a little biased. but this was the one song that pulled me out of some deep shit. “My life is a rainy night that rains 365 days.Heart that gets smaller in every 24 hours.I even hid the small comma and its tail,then the future that awaits me becomes a period…But carry the new day on your shoulder and run.What am I running towards?Weather if the sun’s setting or I if I’m loosing…I don’t know.But I go.Keep on runnin’ runnin’ runnin’ high.”this song really hit me hard. when i first listened to this song, i was going through some rough times-- and it was this song that helped me come to understand that hey, there is someone who understands. there are times where everything seems like it’s just going to end-- but keep going on. keep pushing on. this song, though it may seem dark, really pushed me and got me going. i really thank epik high for that.
Dear TV
i really appreciate this solo song because of the lyrics-- it sheds how clever tablo really is when he’s writing his songs. there were some double meanings and allusions that i didn’t notice when listening.
“You weaponize greed, kill me with incessant I needs”this whole song is a letter to TV. here he’s saying TV can plant a seed of greed inside of us, causing us to say ‘i want this’, or ‘i want that’. but here he’s also alluding the universal greed for technology such as Apple products: ‘I needs’ > i-Phones, i-Pads, iPods, etc.and that’s just a little portion of the rap. here’s more on the lyrics [x]
