A fresh start, huh? New city, new people -- and while that might be ideal for some people, it was a nightmare for Len. After all, he’d played his cards well in his hometown; he had befriended powerful people. He was cool. Popular. People liked him.
Now he was in this new city — Hive city, was it? He didn’t know anyone. He was alone. A nobody. E pluribus unum. An experiment. This was absolute h e l l for Len, but he bit his tongue; boys don’t cry, or something like that. At least, Len programmed himself not to.
As Len tries to mentally familiarize himself with the landscape (only nerds use maps), he thinks to himself that he really needs someone, anyone. Len Kagamine is desperate to have someone at his side, if just to avoid looking like a loner, and he’s losing his cool. He reaches into his pockets to find his phone -- pretending to be on a call is his last resort to not seem a lot like that one kid who sits by himself at lunch. It’s that moment when he glances to his side and sees . . . someone rolling in the grass? Kinda looks like whoever it is is in some sort of pain -- wait, score. Granted it’s nothing serious (Len doesn’t know where a hospital is in this city, and he sure as hell didn’t pay attention to the CPR course in PE), he’ll manage to be a hero and make a friend. He approached, calling out, ❝ Hey, you — ❞
Then he stops short, because he sees her now, and she’s beautiful.
Quickly fixing his hair, he gathers himself once again.
❝ You...are you alright? ❞
