A little while ago, magic kind of went crazy
There are two kinds of magic: light and dark, but actually no one has that magic anymore
That magic took over people and made them into either beings of light or darkness (more on them later, just know that they prey on humans)
People have hidden themselves away in huge, walled cities where they can be safe from the beings
Someone found some old text, and they decided it would be a great idea to perform the spell of summoning
So, now people are summoned every month, and they leave at the end of the month
Five different continents, two of them uninhabited. End Description]

Home to the biggest fortress city: Ritania
Not much to look at on this continent, just plains with not many trees, a lot of farming here
Ritania has a lot of different people, and they have the best library and archives building, so a lot of information here. End Description]

This continent is filled with forests and huge trees
There is a pretty big city called Dagen
Dagen is interested in the light and dark magic, so it’s filled with researchers trying to understand the magic more, and they are trying to figure out how to put the magic in someone who doesn’t have it without making the person turn into one of the beings
Friendly city, but people will talk your ears off about what they’re studying about the magic. End Description]

Has a large mountain range, and people worked on tech to be able to cross it safely
Has a pretty big city as well, named Torr
Engineers in Torr are working to make better tech to fight against the beings
But that’s actually a secret, because Ritania seized a lot of their original tech to use for themselves
A lot of cool tech that I don’t know about in Torr. End Description]

Well, except for the huge groups of beings
Infested with them
Also, the animals and plants have also been infected with the magic
For example, there are now groups of trees that either have white or purple leaves, depending on the magic they absorbed
Makes most people of this world sick just to step foot on this continent (because of all the magic), and there’s a lot of deadly wildlife and plants, not to mention the beings. End Description]

Has a lot of different ecosystems all on one continent
Like really: in one area, it will be snowing, and in the adjacent area, it will be a blazing hot desert
It’s an unspoken rule that no one goes there
But there are ruins, so someone must have lived there in the past, right? End Description]

The beings that absorbed the light magic are human in shape, but they have a golden glow, and they are practically bleached of color; they do speak and understand, they just only have the instinct to prey on humans; they make a human experience their greatest desire while they take the human away and feed on that desire; no one sees the human again
The beings that absorbed the dark magic are also human in shape, but they look like living shadows; they do also speak and understand; the main difference between them and the light beings is that they make a human experience their greatest fear, and they feed on that fear. End Description]

She wants what’s best for people, but she can sound harsh
She’s just not good at showing affection
But she’s good at getting any job done. End Description]

They’re some mercenaries that too up the job (issued from Ritania) of trying to find survivors and people who are summoned on the different continents
They’re married
Setza is super short, but she’ll fight anyone who calls her short (except for Richter); she’s really nice, and she’ll fight anyone who insults her friends
Richter is super tall, and he loves joking about how short his wife is; he’s laid-back and smiles a lot. End Description]

He’s very interested in different magic (not just the magic from this world), so he’s interested in the people summoned to this world
Super snarky, cold, and calculating
He’s not actually a horrible dude, he’s just so interested in his work that he doesn’t always consider the ethics of it (which isn’t good, but still, he’s trying). End Description]

She’d love to learn about the tech from the worlds of the summoned people
