"Star Trek" actor JG Hertzler has announced he is challenging Republican Congressman Tom Reed in November. Hertzler says he disagrees with everything Reed supports, including his support of President Donald Trump.

Hertzler is a bit on the kooky side, but I’ve gotta respect a local politician who gets himself arrested at anti-fracking protests a whole lot more than Reed’s lazy yes-man tendencies. Also, in the slim chance he gets elected, I anticipate more gleefully geeky local news articles about Klingons in politics.
