It has been a whole month — one month since the fateful night of her birthday, the same night she met the beautiful stranger by the name of Jihoon, where she lost a huge part of her that she knew she wouldn’t ever get back. One whole month — since she chickened out the morning after and like the coward that she was, walked out on him.
If someone were to ask her why she did so, she couldn’t put her finger on it either. Maybe because she was afraid of what he had to say in the morning? Afraid she’d be kicked out, or scared that he’d regret his decision of sleeping with her? Nevertheless, she found herself scrambling to get out of his place the morning after, only leaving behind a measly sticky note on his fridge to thank him for her wonderful birthday. Ever since then, though she returned to her life of mundane tasks like school and her singing, among other things — he’s been on her mind. And she didn’t know what irked her more: the fact that she would always find herself fantasizing about that one night with someone she barely knew, or the fact that she was mad at herself for not even exchanging numbers with him.
Not that he would care, right? She was merely a momentary plaything to him, probably. Something he’d get bored of eventually, a collection to his numerous trophies. Or at least.. that’s what she tells herself every time the thought arises. Other than that, she was fine. It’s not like they’re going to run into each other anytime soon, right? She doesn’t run in the same circle as him, and is barely one to party ( although admittedly, it has crossed her mind every single weekend to try and visit the club they met in — which she stopped herself from doing each time, of course ). There was no way she would ever see Jihoon again, no way in hell.
“Where’s Jungmin?” She asks one of their household help as the old lady cleans the hallway, with Yuna lugging a tray full of tea in both hands. As soon as she’s given her little brother’s whereabouts, she heads on over to the study — knowing fully well that it was his first day of his tutoring classes. Yuna only wanted to show her teacher some good old hospitality and show her brother some support while at it. But as soon as she pushed the door open, the appearance of the person sitting beside her ten year-old brother causes her to drop the tray, breaking everything on it and causing the most obnoxious ruckus that echoed through their huge house.
It was him. The last person she ever wanted to see at the moment.
To say that she was rendered speechless would be an understatement, as she stood there, her mouth fully agape in utter shock. She could hear her little brother ask her why she dropped the scalding, hot tea, but she just couldn’t respond. Yuna was immobile for a few seconds more, until she finally gathers the courage to turn around and dart towards her room by the end of the hall, slamming the door shut and pressing herself against it with a desperate whine escaping past her lips. She knew there was going to be the possibility of her running into him, but she didn’t think it would be this soon. Not in the comfort of her own house, at least. “What the fuck just happened..” The female muses under her breath, her heart palpitating out of her chest at the thought of him being under the same roof as her. She was then faced with a question: should she go back out there? Or stay cowering in fear in her room? Whatever her decision was, she knew she was going to have to make them as soon as possible.
