I love Divia because he was created by a trans woman to look like her ideal female self and he was like “actually could I be regarded as a dude” and his creator was like “oh fuck yeah”

Autumn is the POV character for the first book. You start the book not knowing much about her, but more of her backstory is revealed as the plot continues. You learn early on that she was born into a lot of power, but that she had to run away from it for some unknown reason. She’s loyal to a fault, especially to the leader of the FoL, Nox. She may seem cold on the surface at times, but on the inside she’s really caring and had sacrificed so much to be where she is.

Next person we meet is Ludus. At first he just seems like a self-absorbed chronic flirt who will sleep with anyone that consents, but over time more of his true self is revealed. He’s a chronic flirt with clinical depression who drinks his respect women juice and is a whole idiot.

The next character is Jesta. At first we don’t know anything about her, and she comes off as really scary. But she makes it clear that although she is a felon and arsonist, she’s also a funny clown who performs in the cruelty free circus and has no intention of killing. Also she’s sometimes a he, and uses his illusion magic to help show his gender during any given day. She’s hilarious, traumatized, and says ACAB.

Next on the list is Gracie. She at first seems like the stereotypical soft shy big girl who wants to give everyone a hug, but after getting to know her she reveals her true colors. In reality, she’s a very assertive person around those she knows, and can even be bossy at times. She knows what she wants and how to get it.

Then there’s Aida. She’s very strong, both mentally and physically. She knows several types of martial arts to compensate for her powers not being very useful in combat against an adversary. She won’t hesitate to stand up for what she believes in, and helps Gracie learn to find her voice and speak out against her oppressors.

There’s Treble, a trans girl who’s the leader of a biker gang. She puts the punk back in punk by being as punk as possible. She doesn’t smoke or do drugs or anything like that, but she does carry around a gun at all times to threaten members of border security to let people through. She’s incredibly smart, and even created the last person on the list.

Lastly, there’s Divia. He’s a robot created by Treble who gained sentience and his own power set. He doesn’t have traditional fairy powers, but that’s a whole other can of worms. Sometimes he has the robot equivalent to human tics, blurting out random phrases from his speech library. Treble has offered to fix this, but Divia declined, saying “it’s part of who I am as a robot. Also it gets boring around here, I wanna add some randomness to it.” Hes generally really nice, just don’t threaten him or Treble or you won’t live to see another sunrise.
