Went to Dixie Caverns in Salem Virginia today. Really cool walk up and down through the cave. I believe the highest point was 80 feet above where we started. The cave was originally discovered because some local boys dog named Dixie chased an animal into an opening at the top of the cave. They had to get permission and help from the land owner to retrieve their dog. Pretty sure they got her back. The caves will have been open for tours for 100 years next year. Really cool place to check out. Reasonable admission at $18 an adult. They also have a penny squasher and there are bats in the cave to see.
