Tips When Installing Window Trim
Tips when installing window trim is what this DIY how to video is about. VideoJoe has just watched a couple guys install some new windows & the associated window trim around the windows. The window trim turned out looking good. One of the things that VideoJoe would recommend for the exterior wood trim that gets installed up to a pre-painted exterior stucco wall would be that after the new window trim gets installed & caulked up to the existing stucco wall would be to wait a day or two then come back & cut in the existing stucco paint color up tight to the new window trim edge. There will be no way you can caulk a straight & tight enough line up against the stucco to say you won't need to repaint the stucco wall. Even the pros cannot do this so for a 100% project go back & repaint the stucco wall & after the window trim gets done being installed & caulked go back the next day or so & repaint the entire window trim with a once over additional coat of paint making sure to repaint the window sill stool as well so everything looks nice & fresh just like you were never there. Did you need to install any new wood trim in or around the interior side of the new window installation? Try to match existing conditions where able meaning if the interior window trim is stained then your new pieces of interior trim should be stained to match before installing etc.. Installing wood trim around a new window is easy...when you know how. Watch & learn as VideoJoeShows you a few tips when installing window trim.
