Create your own delicious homemade creme eggs with this easy recipe. These sweet treats are perfect for Easter or any time you crave a creamy, chocolatey indulgence.
Ingredients: 2 cups of chocolate chips. 1 cup of powdered sugar. 2 tablespoons of butter. 1/4 cup of corn syrup. 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Yellow food coloring optional.
Instructions: Melt 1 cup of chocolate chips in the microwave or on a double boiler until smooth and creamy. Using a silicone egg-shaped mold, coat the inside of each mold with the melted chocolate. Make sure to coat evenly, leaving no gaps. Place in the freezer for 10 minutes to set. While the chocolate shells are setting, prepare the creme filling. In a mixing bowl, combine powdered sugar, butter, corn syrup, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and well combined. Add yellow food coloring if desired to achieve the classic creme egg color. Take the chocolate molds out of the freezer and carefully fill each with the creme mixture, leaving a little space at the top for sealing with more chocolate. Melt the remaining 1 cup of chocolate chips and spoon it over the filled molds to seal the eggs. Ensure that all sides are covered, and the creme filling is completely enclosed in chocolate. Return the filled molds to the freezer for another 10-15 minutes until the chocolate has set completely. Once set, gently remove the homemade creme eggs from the mold. You can store them in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Enjoy your homemade creme eggs as a delightful treat or share them with family and friends!
