Depending in how scratched the tubes were, I'd typically start with 80 or 100 grit, and move up in increments of 20-40 grit at a time so... 100-120-140-180-220-300 then wet/dry and 3M Hookit 320-400-600-800 then i hit it with the 3M Trizact foam pads which give me 1000-5000 grit. Then!...
