2016 Chilliwack Eagle Gate: Notice there is no visible gate mechanisms. The gate openers are carefully mounted to the bottom frame of the gate, so its completely hidden and doesn't take away from the design of the gate. Everything else is also hidden, inside those hallow concrete pillars or buried under ground. 2016 Eagle Gate: The install journal 😅⁣ It was decided to use an i-beam for the post supports, cause why not. Dug out two holes about 4' x 4' x 4' ish and seated the i-beam, leveling it with some 1/2" solid bar. All of which will be incased in concrete. 2016 Chilliwack Eagle Gate: 1500 feathers-ish. Haha. This is right about the point in the build where you know you want to add more feathers, but really, when do you stop? Haha. ⁣ ⁣ Sometimes you have to draw the line when it comes to budgets, although in hindsight I kind ah wished we ate it and spent the time to add a few more haha BUT, that "few more" could have easily turned out to be another 1500, easily! 2016 Chilliwack Eagle Gate: Making the feathers. Plasma cut each feather, on a strip, then I used an angle grinder to give it the feathered appearance. Quick and dirty, but it was enough. As for most commissioned projects, the budget for this eagle and the gate wasn't unlimited haha so economical choices needed to be made on how much detail to put in. ⁣ ⁣⁣ I made 200-300 feathers at a time, over and over again.
