I probably walked 8 miles today.
I took the train to Tel Aviv and walked all the way to the Dizengoff Center in the middle of the city (about 1.25 miles). I spent a few hours wandering around the shops there and enjoying the beautiful weather and the rainbow fountain in the middle of the square. This was seriously the most beautiful day I have seen in a very long time.
After I ate the lunch I brought, I met up with my new friend, a guy from my program who is vacationing in Tel Aviv before the program starts in 2 weeks. We decided to go exploring, and we walked all the way to the beach! (Rounding out my walking to about 3 miles, give or take a bit.) The beach was beautiful, and I took probably 100 pictures. (The pictures will be up, I just have to go through them all haha!) A couple hours later we went looking for the apartments that the program has in Tel Aviv. We got a little lost on the way, but eventually found them, right in the middle of town!
After taking more pictures and getting ice cream, we went our separate ways and I walked all the way back to the train (another mile and a half).
I just used Google Maps to figure out all the miles, and though I'm not sure where we were all the time, all the back and forth walking we did up and down the city was at least 7 miles, probably 8. And man am I tired!
PS. I'm going to visit my religious cousins tomorrow and I'm staying through Shabbat. I'm not bringing my computer so you won't hear from me until Sunday, that is unless I figure out how to make proper posts from my phone. So Shabbat Shalom! :)
