And with that the mother dashed off, leaving a crying toddler in Mi-na’s arms. This was far from what she expected when she accepted the woman’s request for help. Having done a lot of miscellaneous work between finding lost animals or belongings to dealing with annoying pests, babysitting wasn’t one of them. She had helped the woman prior by getting her ex-husband to stop harassing her so she hadn’t questioned what she needed help with this time around. With the kid wailing in her ears for his mother, she desperately wished she had asked for details.
People were starting to stare at her, probably wondering why she hadn’t stopped the toddler from crying yet. Beginning to panic, she set the child down, who immediately flopped their butt the ground and continued the waterworks. Since she was at a park with a playground, maybe she could get the girl’s attention to focus on the slide or something. Unfortunately as she tried, almost pleadingly so, the girl just wouldn’t budge.
“Urggg, I can’t do this..”
