Last night’s official launch opening of @iffr at @de_doelen_rotterdam was interesting. My friends and I @1jpn ✨ @mayachristinamusiq ✨ @ladyshaynah ✨@y.m.p made a grand appear as we expressed the joy of life by being ourself at the very best. It’s all about style & substance while owning the moment in time called now! I loved the fact prior to the main film Jimmie (a film about a four year old blond boy who fled Sweden with his father. From a kids perspective you experience a horrific journey trying to reach an alter destiny. This expressionist film pretty much invites you to experience what Africans, and all so called ‘refugees’ go through on their pursuit of happiness.) the cherry was popped by graphic afrofuturist KUI NGIRACHU with her short taking IFFR into outer space. With Her short striking teaser she also introduces a Kenyan perspective on afrofuturism. In her film she depicts a example of her work an ‘African constellation’ series which places various African ethic groups in space. Her Futuristic reimagining of Melanated people comes from a desire to highlight the diversity and richness of African People. KUI touched the walls of my own thoughts with her work, for this i celebrate the artist. Her work definitely inspired my own coined aesthetics #melaninfuturism I must express this year will Be surely promising. The intergalactic artists are woke. This year I will be producing a new poetry roadshow which will be fueled with poetry, music, visual-art and #melaninfuturism, betteryet #spokenthoughts. It will be a voyage exploring the multi-dimension of #PEOPLE By the way: 27th of January I will be accompanying a live band at @jazz_cafe_dizzy see you on the other side of time signing off #MelaninKris. #kuingirachu #iffr2018 #dedoelen #afrofuturism #levisionairs #flow #wtcrotterdam #roadshow #dizzyjazzcafe #poetry #livemusic (bij International Film Festival Rotterdam - IFFR)
