4 ‘Normal’ Challenges to a Online Brand
The days of an artist getting to the top without the help of artists is long over with. There are few individuals who can get around without any networking or handshaking – we’d like to assume that talent can raise an artist to the top without help, but sometimes the opposite is true. Talented individuals are snuffed from the scene in order to perpetuate a particular style or sound that has the market cornered. An artist is much more than a name or a song, they are an image. This image can be both good and bad, but it is something that they are inevitably known by. Deadmau5 and Daft Punk are known for their masks, but Deadmau5 is also known for a pompous attitude. This is what I mean by “image”. A brand can be fabricated through all the mainstream techniques, such as reputation, imagery, logos, and anything else that can be created – but the most important of these aspects is reputation. An artist who is known for partying will attract that type to their shows. A secluded artist who downplays their success will win the hearts and minds who think modesty is the way to go. Basically, you can control how your brand and image is thought of to either work with you or work against you. http://www.musicthinktank.com/blog/4-normal-challenges-to-building-a-strong-online-brand.html?SSLoginOk=true
