So I know that Ryou was made to be more passive after Monster World bc Takahashi or someone thought the implications of Ryou being able to resist Bakura but not doing it made him too morally gray or that the target audience wouldn't get it. But the shift is so abrupt so it actually makes it look even worse, like Ryou just threw up his hands and went "Okay you know what Bakura go ahead and orchestrate the apocalypse I don't care anymore"
