Forgot to post for #caturday

My little guy has been asking for a pool party for his fifth birthday for almost a year. His birthday was the first and we had a regular party the day before. Pool party scheduled for the 15th… got word yesterday that the cafeteria will be closed but we can still use the pool… tonight he went to bed excited for his pool party in the morning…

We just got word at 10pm that the pool is closed.

So… D turned 5 on Sunday but we had a party on Saturday. We kept telling him that it was just his party and he was turning five on Sunday because last year, he got confused and thought he turned four at the party and five the next day on his birthday. It all seemed to go well into Sunday night when I dropped him off and he was upset that he wasn’t any older on his actual birthday and he was still four because it was only a party when he blew out his candle.

And that’s the story of how we ended up singing happy birthday and holding up a number five candle for him to blow out at 8pm on Sunday before he would go to bed.
