Daniil: Just to tell you a small story, I first I practiced with Novak when I was 500 or 600th in the world, in Monaco. And so he was already #1 in the world. I thought OK, he’s not going to speak to me  because the guy was a God for me. I was really shy so I didn’t speak. He was asking me questions, talking to me like I was a friend. I was really surprised he’s never changed - he’s always been a great sport and a great person.

Novak: I would like to return nice words to Daniil. First of all - class act. You’re a great guy and a great person. We used to spend more time together and practice more in Monaco. You are not calling me anymore in last two years. It was nice to see you were thinking good things about me. I really like Daniil as a person off the court. He’s great, very friendly. On the court, he’s definitely one of the toughest players I ever faced in my life. It’s a matter of time that you will hold a Grand Slam for sure - if you don’t mind waiting a few more years... I would like everyone, once more, to just appreciate what he’s done - a 20-match winning streak. Amazing.
