YAZ IS SUPPOSED TO BE 19???
i hadn’t realised she was supposed to be so young...she doesn’t seem that young at all :/
honestly i DO think it’s no good to cast people who are so much older for teens. it’s just....it’s just obviously not true. and it skews my perception of the character entirely. Ryan reads WAYYY younger than Yaz does. 19 seems like a possible reading for Ryan at least.
im not saying that a 19-year-old couldn’t shout at two ladies in the street for being ridiculous, but
Well Rose was definitely plausibly 19. While Yaz.... hm. she just DOESN’T seem plausibly 19. her face, her manner, her balance. can’t sense that inexperience or overcompensation. that instability.
and she’s ‘absolutely in awe of the Doctor’ hmmhm. this would be good if the 19 bit didn’t shock me

not that i had any problem with Rose and the Doctor’s romance (i was a teenager) but
It’s WEIRD to be older than what the companion’s portrayed as this time around. especially because the actress is older than me! wtf
