Sleep

(!!ALSO!! this has NOTHING to do with the canon story of Sophie Prestin Or the KF2 universe! This is an Alt story I did with Yuuri! -admin Max)

Sophie stared at the blank computer, her one good eye strained from looking at the screen for so long in the dark. The time read 1:35 AM.

At that point, she was on her computer for a few hours now typing and searching.

To her surprise, web browsers were still up and active.

But that wasn't what was on her mind that the moment.

The question that still rang through her mind was:

“Who was Kevin Clamely Jr?”

Her attention was soon shifted by the soft footsteps coming from behind her, startling her.

She snatched up her pistol aiming it at the door, putting it down again when she saw who it was, with a sigh of relief.

“Sophie? What are you doin' up so late hun?” a male dutch voice rang out, it was Scully, her non adopted and biological uncle, they were close like family.

“Homework,” Sophie replied, her attention going back to her laptop. “Why do you care anyway? And why are you even awake?” Sophie snapped, coming off more aggressively than she ever intended.

Scully stepped back at Sophie’s reply, but then stepped forward, walking towards her.

“I’m awake cause I can hear your laptop on and your typing, and I worry about you, Sophie,” Scully replied.

Sophie sighed, and saved her page, with plans on revisiting it at a later date, she closed it halfway. Glancing at Scully’s figure, she knew it was time to get some rest.

“Come on love.” Scully cooed, seeing her finally accept the fact that it was time to rest, he padded over to her sleepy form.

She grabbed onto his arm, he wasn't wearing his hoodie but an old shirt Sophie gave him.

He picked Sophie up, her single eye drooping due to lack of sleep.

He walked into the young teen’s room, laying her down in her bed and tucking her in, the small teenager was already asleep at that point, so he left the room without a peep.

“That kid is gettin’ heavier and heavier…” he whispered after he shut her bedroom door.

In the living room, he saw her laptop sitting on a coffee table half-open, as he began to close it, something caught his eye. All of her past searches could be seen

“Not exactly homework, eh?”

Scully said to himself, accidentally closing her page.

“Shit!” he whispered.

Her wallpaper had been of him, and the Fosters after a particularly difficult job, everyone looked happy, excited. He smiled fondly at the image remembering the day as if it were yesterday.

He snapped out of his trance and pulled up a new browser in an attempt to retrieve her old pages.

A list of all the search terms popped up before him, he read them as they came up:

“The attack on London” “Kevin Clamely’s Son” “Kevin Clamely Jr” “Horzine testing”

Pinching the bridge of his nose, racking his brain for any reason she’d be interested in The Patriarch.

He shut the laptop, leaving no trace he was there and shuffled over to his room, his room lit up with broken LED lights all over the wall, He removed his shirt and dirted jeans and flopped onto his bed, he had always hated the silence but this was one the rare moments he enjoyed it.
