Chat, how do I explain to a white perisex cishetero guy why I'm not in a panic over my doctor ignoring my symptoms, as that's just kinda normal for someone like me?
I'm so low on hemoglobin due to low iron that a different doctor than my GP called the same day they did a blood draw. I've been fatigued for ages and low iron is known about too, but beyond "take supplements" my GP just didn't care to do anything, as so far it was apparently not bad enough
I told that to the aforementioned guy and he was like. Shocked. That it's been a known issue for years and nothing was being done? Idk man, I'm seen as female and am also fat, doctors just don't care lol
I'll mention it again when I have my appointment in 3 weeks, but I don't think anything more will come of it again
And he's. So shocked. He thought I was at the GP? It's Monday, I got the results on Thursday, with Friday being a holiday??
"But if you've had symptoms?? Why don't they do anything!"
But I guess if you've never experienced that, if you didn't grow up like this, if you grew up with everyone taking everything you say seriously, it can be hard to understand.
I'll be told to go for walks to counter the fatigue and that'll be it. Go for walks. Take otc supplements. Leave us alone, annoying patient.
He just said "as long as they're calm. If they're panicking, then it gets bad." Oh my sweet sweet summer child. You have never experienced the indifference of medical personal and it shows. (tbf, second doc was pretty anxious to have me checked out, so yeah, maybe it's bad bad now. idk)
