Watched Thor Ragnarok
It was a rainbow of bullshit coming together really nicely
Somehow all those different kinds of ....aesthetics didn't clash too much at all
Cate Blanchett did a great job, especially in the last moment of Hela's life (wow!)
Not sure why her shoulders were exposed where there should have been shoulder pads surely. But the rest was pretty good
Chris Hemsworth has a nice bod and voice, and gives Thor a lot of likeableness
But Loki!!! I finally understand why all those fangirls went crazy over him. Supremely pretty and actually kind of likeable.
Bruce also for a change had some really nice lines that gave him a lot of personality. Thor's interactions with Bruce and the Hulk were well-played
I laughed out loud at the jokes round the Gamemaker and his second in command
The armour was really good??? Great outfits for Thor and Loki but also the Valkyrie (who still has no name?) with her blue cape. Badass moments holy shit when her ship exploded and they were both like: NO!!! and she landed on theirs. Her second outfit was slightly boobarmoury but barely noticed it. Never noticed whether she had heels on, only noticed the absence of them on the first outfit. EDIT: just remembered that her main outfit actually has hella boob armour but bc they're... Subtly shaped and also one plate I was like: ok. Ok well, I ignore this. It better than normal.
I liked the blatant stuff about Loki actually wanting to be a hero and be loved by his brother
And living up to it!!!
The aesthetics of the Gamemaker's world were super. Just super. Very ....sci-fi but.....what's the right word here? Non-western? Liked that a lot.
I like how indeed, Taika disrupted every self-aware moment of 'cool guy' with fumbling and resultant humour.
The action scenes were cool and fun and looked good as hell.
I LOVED Hela tearing down the lies on the dome of the palace and revealing the conqueror king. She was a cool and uncomplicated adversary. Simply 'the worst' and therefore somebody who needed to be stopped.
The best part was hands down the memories of the Valkyries falling to Hela. Damn....
Korg was a good side character that held both depth and didn't take up too much space.
Heimdall was beautiful.
And everything came together satisfactorily at good pacing. Entertaining and a good story.
