DLSU - IS Goes To Caliraya Resort Club
Last June 3, the De La Salle University - Integrated School Faculty went all the way from Biñan, Laguna to Caliraya Resort Club in Lumban, Laguna for a day of fun before the school year officially starts. I think it was scheduled brilliantly because it was right after a couple of busy weeks filled with module-making and other preparations for AY 2014 - 2015 and just a week before the classes start. It surely was a day of strengthening our bond as a family while having the chance to enjoy and just let loose!
We left the campus at around 6:00AM and arrived in Caliraya Resort Club a couple of hours later. Our vans and bus had to drop us off at a mini port and all of us had to go on a very short ferry ride to get to the island. We had light snacks and settled into the huge kubo (hut) before the actual team building began. We were grouped per level with corresponding colors to boot! Kinder to Grade 2 teachers wore BLACK, Grade 3 to 6 teachers wore RED, Grade 7-8 teachers wore GREEN (Yey, that's us!) and Grade 9-11 teachers wore VIOLET.
The first activity that we had was the Cheering Competition wherein obviously all the teams had to prepare a short cheer. I hate to admit it but we had to do "Boom, Panis!" in our routine! Well, all of the teams actually incorporated that into their respective routines! Ha ha! Aside from the cheering, the facilitators prepared five group activities for the whole event. Check out the photos below!
I guess it's safe to say that all of us had a lot of fun with the activities! I had an amazing time playing with the Earth Ball although it was really hot since we played right before noon! Ha ha! After all the activities, we were treated to a buffet lunch in Caliraya Resort Club. The food was great but being with my fellow Lasallian mentors made the lunch experience even better! Hashtag cheesy.
After lunch, my batch mates and I decided to play volleyball. Even though it started to rain, we still pushed through with the game! The rain made it even more fun, actually! We also played soccer! Gahd, playing soccer while it was raining was definitely the best part of not just my day there, but the best part of my summer! I haven't played in a long time and the last time I played while under the rain was around three years ago, so it was an awesome and blissful on my part! We also got to play basketball before we decided to get ready for our travel! I woke up the next day with my entire body aching from all the activities we did! Ha ha! Worth it, though!
Here's an incomplete batch photo! I'm excited for all the opportunities this new school year has in store for all of us. I'm sure that no matter how heavy our loads get, we'll always come out strong! ANIMO!
