So fun fact about me, I grew up playing monopoly VERY competitively with my cousins- like memorized all the chance cards so no one can lie about what’s on them, serious.
Anyway, Shazamily playing Monoploy!
Darla gets tricked into so many bad deals bc she is the youngest that now she refuses to make any deal at all even if ruins her own chances at winning
Freddy swears that the railroads and utilities are the real money makers and will give up a potential monopoly for them
Mary used to lie about what is on the chance/community chest cards to give herself extra points and now isn’t allowed to touch them
Pedro is the banker, mostly because he usually gets out early and the others still want him involved, mostly because he is the only one that isn’t going to cheat
One time Darla was banker and thought money going to the bank was hers. No one noticed until she was able to put down hotels immediately on the dark blues
Freddy has photo evidence of each of his wins, usually with a money spread and maniacal laughter
They keep track of records to beat while playing- Mary holds most money at the end of the game, Eugene has most amount of properties gotten without trading, Pedro has most amount of $1 bills (36- which is actually my record lol), Freddy has honourable mention of the biggest L after having to take down his hotels because he was one dollar short on rent to Mary (happened to me once-not lol)
Billy is so bad at monopoly that he’s convinced the dice is cursed and they go to get it checked by the Wizard. It isn’t, Billy is just that unlucky.
Eugene has bitten someone for buying the property he wanted
Eugene is by far the most competitive- he treats it more serious than actually going into battle
If Freddy starts to lose he’ll go on a tangent about “This is just capitalism, I can’t believe you guys want to exploit the working class what is wrong with you”
Eugene really likes the alt versions like cheater edition or the credit card one but they never play any of them bc they are all to attached to the og
They’re monopoly board is ripped in half (its still under debate by who) and was taped back together with stickers
Billy forgets that what property he has and consistently misses rent
Billy is also the easiest to convince to be forgiven of their rent, esp by Darla
Freddy always gets Billy’s properties after he gets out and Mary hates it so much she made a rule that if you get out your property/money has to got to the bank
One time a game went on for over 5 hours, the last just being a stack of cash going back and forth between Eugene and Freddy. It is the only draw because Rosa said if they didn’t stop they would be grounded (also true story)
Mary is the hat, Darla is the dog, Billy is the can thing, Freddy is the car, Eugene is the ship, Pedro is the shoe
They have 2 hundred bills that looking nothing like the rest of the set that is the default for free parking. No one knows where they came from because it doesnt fit any other game they have
Eugene is the first to call cheating, Freddy is the most likely to be caught
They each have a property set that they default to getting through trades- Mary has dibs on the reds, Freddy goes for yellows, Eugene thinks the more expensive the better and goes for dark blues but no one ever lands on it, Billy ends up with the light blues at most, Darla goes for purple bc its her favorite colour and then pink when shes older and has a chance at winning, Pedro always has oranges even without trades, Freddy and Eugene fight over the green but neither can pay for enough houses for it to matter
