It's interesting that the stunt Noah pulls here is actually kind of similar to what Kaiba did back in Duelist Kingdom. Both of them put someone in danger in order to try to force their opponent to back down. In Kaiba's case he was obviously putting himself in danger and it was a move of desperation for him, because he absolutely needed to win to save his brother. Here though, Noah isn't desperate at all. It's clear that this was part of his plan and that he's doing it just to mess with Kaiba's head even more and to show him that he can take everything from him: his brother, his company, and even his ability to win this game. He's counting on Kaiba not being able to go through with it so he can have an easy win.
