Dominion Gabriel: 9, 10, 11? (I hope you don't mind a few more. I love reading these headcanons.)
I don’t mind at all! :) Only the realization that I have an embarrassingly few headcanons concerning Gabriel. Shame on me.
9) General physical contact headcanon
He doesn’t feel aversion for physical contact, but he does have a certain sense of superiority over most creatures he has to interact with nowadays, and so generally he is very purposeful when it comes to touching. It’s all a means of manipulation and control after all. It puts a limit to the scope of bodily contact.
However, when it comes to those dear to him, it’s an entirely different story. Before it all fell apart Gabriel could always have someone to caress, brush, groom, hug, feel a heart against his own and the reassuring warmth of another’s presence, affirming that all was right and he was not alone. It was all about affection. Gabriel is a hugger. So now he is starving for the closeness, the intimacy, the illusion of trust it holds. Instead he is forced into not knowing when he is allowed to touch, he is forced into circling shy before he could even think about opening his arms for an embrace, or lift his hand in an offering of comfort.
Now every kind of contact is good. If it leaves a metallic taste in his mouth and his twin’s knuckles bruised, then it’s okay too.
10) Physical appearance headcanon
Angels rarely scar - they get wounded, sure, but they eventually heal without any blemish of a scar on their skin - Gabriel, even though being an archangel and a warrior one as well, does even less often. It’s a Sword’s duty to take all the sharp cuts, the Heart takes different kind of blows; it suffers long, prolonged pressure instead. And yet, if Gabriel ever bothered to take a look at his corporeal body in a mirror, he would still catch glimpses or paler marks criss-crossing his skin. Scars he himself had never worn, but grew acquinted with them just as intimately. The newest one is pierced just over his heart.
11) Wardrobe headcanon
It would physically hurt him to own anything but black.
I am terribly sorry about the last one, but I literally have nothing on that! D: It’s only the long-suffering artist talking who’s getting really fed up picking different shades of almost black.
