Week 11, 5th - 11th Dec
The final week of DMB40 work before christmas has finally passed. All the CCi Live and Cook Book Live work can now be put on hold until January.
Our second CCi Live show went out this Friday, though there were problems as usual. The Producer had constantly been struggling to find a presenter for the show, due to illness and people having deadlines. The team had a quick studio session on tuesday to audition two possible presenters, Ollie and Katerina. Katerina worked really well, feeling comfortable in front of the camera, the only criticism being that she needs to learn the script first. Sadly Ollie wasn’t as good, nerves got the better of him and didn’t work well in front of the camera. It was a nice session to have in the studio as there were no pressures of having to practise a show before going live.
The live broadcast of the show, that went out to both Eldon Building and the Big Screen in Guildhall Square had its complications. A wire must have gone somewhere but the broadcast going out at Guildhall Square had no audio, as much as the team in the gallery tried, it was unable to be fixed, and in the end having to go live to both Eldon and the Big Screen without audio. Though disappointing as no-one could hear the footage, it is good to think on the positive side. At least the work was viewed by a bigger and wider audience with it being played on the Big Screen, even though there was no audio. It was also mentioned that BBC Producer David Batcock would like copies of the insert as feel they could be shown on the Big Screen again. A great boost for the group.
Now it is time for the team to switch roles once more. I have taken on the challenge of being producer. A role I am nervous to take on, as seeing from the last two shows it is a big job with big responsibilities. I want to create a professional looking show, so as soon as the team return from christmas I am going to set up meetings early on to discuss the show, being fully prepared for the weeks ahead.
