okk my bastard dc oc, dmitri ref sheet, and time to lore dump bc I’ve been putting this off!!

tw mentions of dead bodies and graverobbing, brief mentions of sh, drug use, and addiction

basicalky, dmitri is a mad scientist, he came to gotham from russia at 18 for a lab internship, but was soon caught using the lab to conduct extremely immoral experiments!!

dmitri is obsessed with metahumans and mutants and shit, and wants to figure out their biology and anatomy and idk how to put this but essentially how they work and how their powers work. he will conduct his studies under any means necessary, even if it means committing crimes like grave robbing.

he lives in poverty and his makeshift ‘lab’ is the freezer of an abandoned restaurant.

he has been constant ostracized and abandoned throughout his life and wants to show the world he is actually a great scientist!!

he also is veryyy addicted to many vices including drugs and sh, sadly :(

he is shipped with nightwing bc they are forced to work on a case together after dmitri accidentally lets loose a monster into blüdhaven UHHHH..

Bad Ideas

“Grigori…”

Dmitri was trying his best to keep absolutely calm, but the hands on his sides were making it very difficult. He’d made the mistake of letting Grigori drink around him again. Last time, however, his assistant hadn’t been so affectionate.

Then again, the last time was also long before they’d actually gotten together.

“Yessss, Dmitri?~” the taller cooed, only serving to fluster the warden even more, even as he tried to keep it hidden.

“You are being… very clingy right now.”

“And is this complaint?”

“I am just… acknowledging.”

“Right, right, acknowledging~”

“I am also acknowledging that we are alone, so I will let it slide,” the warden told Grigori. It was true; it was late at night, and they were in Dmitri’s on-site bunker. He didn’t like to sleep away from the prison, just in case of an emergency, so he’d had this place fitted with good heating, a decent bed and a desk to keep him able to do his work comfortably. Which was where he found himself trapped now; seated at his desk, his lover behind him, large hands gently holding the shorter’s sides, the only protection he had being a thin shirt he usually wore to bed.

“Well, now I acknowledge something,” Grigori said, “I acknowledge you do not laugh much~”

“And why does that need acknowledging?”

“Because, is… what is word…?” the taller was quiet for a moment before he remembered, “Is unhealthy.”

“Nonsense. I am perfectly healthy,” Dmitri insisted, but internally it only cemented what he already knew Grigori was trying to do. The only thing he was trying to figure out was why he wasn’t doing it already.

“Well, just to make sure? Would not want you to be unhealthy, boss~”

Ah. He is waiting for permission. Even when drunk, he knows to ask.

Dmitri was silent. This just made things infinitely more complicated. If Grigori had just started outright, he could've had a chance of pretending he was angry. He could have pretended he hated it and wanted him to stop. Even if it was all pretend, it would be less humiliating.

But giving him permission was incriminating. It was being complicit in his own childish wants. It might as well have been admitting that he liked it.

But maybe he won’t remember tomorrow? With any luck, this will all just be a blur to him.

Slowly, the warden set his pen down, folding his hands on his desk and taking a deep breath.

“I will give you permission this one time. Only because you are drunk. Do not make this a regular occurrence,” the shorter tried his best to sound annoyed, as though he was only indulging in Grigori’s drunken dumbassery.

“Will try, depending on how cute your laugh is~”

Oh god, what have I done?

Before he could regret his actions any more, the warden suddenly felt his assistant squeezing his sides, his fingers digging into the little bit of pudge that he’d never managed to lose there and sending bolts of ticklish energy through his system. He wished he could say he struggled or at least put up a fight, but he didn’t. He curled up, loud laughter flowing freely from his mouth as all he tried to do was hide his face in his paperwork.

What made it worse was that he could hear Grigori laughing at his reaction.

“Well, it is loud, that is sure! Either that, or you are just very ticklish~”

Dmitri promised himself he would never admit it’s both.

He couldn’t even try to say anything, but it was just as well, because he wouldn’t know what to say anyway. He wasn’t going to tell him ‘no’ or ‘stop’, considering he did give Grigori explicit permission, but he certainly wasn’t going to stoop to any sort of pleading. He was above that! He begged for nothing from nobody.

But at the same time, just taking it was so humiliating, he had to say something. So he went with the first thing that came to mind.

Yet another really bad idea.

“IT TIHIHIHICKLES!! GRIGOHORIHIHIHI!!”

A really really bad idea.

“Oh, I can tell, you laugh so loud… and so happy~”

Shit.

He wanted to deny it so much, he really did. But he just couldn’t. Grigori was right and he knew it. He knew he loved this. He knew he cherished the playful atmosphere and the chance to laugh freely and forget his carefully built appearance, as humiliating as it was to admit. The whole reason he’d never say it directly.

But maybe he’d never need to.
