Sweetened coffee and cake...
That was what you and Sasha silently ate in his warm mansion.
The wedding cake you were supposed to eat with Caeser and LeeWon was now being eaten by you and your 'new' husband.
Soft vanilla sponge cake with fresh cream and edible gold dust highlighting the lace-like designs on the white cake. Red roses dunked in sugar syrup decorated the top elegantly.
"You did the cake tasting alone?" Sasha asked you as he set aside his empty saucer, subtly motioning his butler to cut him another piece.
You shook your head yes, slowly lifting your gaze to meet him.
"They were busy with work that day." You answered timidly. Honestly, you felt stupid.
There was literally so many red flags in your relationship with the duo but you ignored it all.
Your train-of-self-deprecating-thought crashed when you hear Sasha let out a hum of approval.
He ate the cake with whiskey and he was enjoying it too.
"Wouldn't this all clash with your medicine?" You asked him with a hint of worry in your already strained voice.
He shot you a glare which made you shut up but then he smiled, definitely at your reaction.
"Relax maharani...I don't take medication, that's for weaker men." Sasha chuckled out and reached out for you to go to him.
You do so.
When you reached him, he took your hands into his and placed a kiss atop them.
"I want you to go take a nice warm bath and rest in the ladies wing...You've been through enough today." He whispers to you warmly.
His sudden care to you was baffling considering he majorly opposed the wedding when it was in talks.
"She's too short."
"She's not Russian."
"She isn't worthy of being a Tsarina yet."
"You can do much better."
But now, here he was pampering you. Forget pampering, he was the one that married you. It definitely was the guilt right?
And yet, you see a spark in his eye...a glimmer of warmth only when he spoke to you.
"Just what do you want from me Sasha?" You asked as you were now in your bathing chambers, soaking the jasmine scented warmth from the waters.
Your hair was open and damp, sticking to your face and back as you sigh in exhaustion.
Your husband was confusing you the more you thought about him. He was like a spider and you, a butterfly getting further tangled into his web.
"Perhaps some sleep will be good." you thought to yourself as you rose from the water, dried yourself and headed to bed.
You put on your pale blue nighties then slipped into your bed soundly. You closed your eyes and drifted to sleep, wondering what exactly your groom wants from you.

Sasha on the other hand laid silently in his bed, pondering over what had transpired that day.
His coward of a son and son-in-law abandoned you at the altar, something he predicted long before this happened and now, he married you.
Not that he was complaining or anything, you were a sweet girl. He may have said harsh things before to try and get you to leave his son and Lee Won but, you refused to remove your rose tinted glasses.
You loved those idiots so much that it hurt the older man when you were abandoned by them.
He gazed at the photo Caeser sent of you when you just began going out with him and Lee Won.
Oh, how elegant you were to Sasha's sore eye.
You were seated in your garden, dressed in a pink net saree with gold borders and designs. Your hands were adorned with pink and gold bangles, a gajra pinned in your hair.
"Maharani-sa..." He couldn't help but whisper as he gazed at that enchanting smile on your face. "As my wife...I won't let you cry, at least over my son again."
The man powered off his phone and closed his eyes, relaxing his racing mind and thinking about his new wife and her sweet smile.
God...he was whipped for you but, he'll never admit that now would he?

The next morning, Sasha woke up early.
Usually he would smell nothing but the burnt cigars and whiskey in his room but today, he smelled something rather pleasant.
Rose, cardamom and milk...
Curious, Sasha got up, bathed and dressed before coming to the kitchens. The servants are usually not up this early.
But there you were...his wife, wide awake and cooking.
Forget cooking, the way you looked that morning took his breath away.
You wore a orange and gold banarasi silk saree. Your damp hair was gripped up and body adorned with light jewellery.
"Do you always have time to decorate yourself like this maharani?" Sasha called from behind you with amusement.
You froze up for a moment before turning to him.
"I do..." You answered meekly prompting Sasha to smile as he took in the sight of your flushed cheeks and startled expression.
He silently sat on the nearby chair as you continued cooking, with a slight tense in your form that wasn't there earlier.
"Don't tremble so much maharani... The milk pudding would curdle in offense."
He stood up and left after saying that, surprising you.
"Did he just tease you?!"
Oh yes he did!
Unbeknownst to you, the man was gazing down at that photo of you on his cellphone, laughing to himself as he recalled your red cheeks and startled expression.
"My silly maharani... You have so much to learn." He whispered as he powered off his phone upon reaching his study.
Dmitri Sergeyev awaited him there.
"Greetings Unc-
"Have you contacted Caeser?" Sasha cut him off as he snipped off the end of his cigar and lit it. He secretly smiled as he recalled how you lit his cigar for him the previous day.
Dmitri on the other hand, frowned upon the mentioning of Caeser. "He's unreachable from yesterday." He answered guiltily. "It's like he ran off with Lee Won..."
Sasha remained stoic for a moment, only a moment before placing his gun on the table.
"I don't care how...if you don't get a hold of that useless son of mine or his boyfriend, I will have you strung outside naked in the snow... My wife needs answers from them."
Dmitri trembled from the coldness in his uncle's voice. That threat was enough to send shivers down his spine.
"I'll do my best uncle..." He finally answered Sasha and bowed respectfully. "I'll take your leave now...Take care."
And after saying that, he was gone to look for Caeser and Lee Won.
Sasha smirked.
He had a sinister plan ready for Caeser if you grant him the permission to carry it out.
"You and Jeong Lee Won love each other so much to leave behind your wife...no worries, no I'll make you bow to the Tzarina of the Sergeyev mafia."
