Clear wasn’t sure how to take the news the moment he found out Alpha was unable to spout out a single word from his mouth. It took him a few days to realise that his young sibling was –in fact- a mute, and wasn’t giving him the cold shoulder Clear had previously thought.
Clear asked him why he kept his mouth shut the whole time and didn’t notify his older brother on the sudden ‘technical sound difficulties’. Clear would’ve been able to ask Tae immediately for help, asking suggestions on how to repair it and the tools and materials required for the operation. The only response he got from was an incredulous and bored stare before Alpha left towards the next room, indicating that he wanted to be left alone.
Watching him acting so damn stubborn made it impossible for Clear to endure it even longer. If only he had the patience as close to Sei’s –to this day, Clear had no idea how the young man had been able to manage the two Alphas, especially Alpha- maybe he would connect with Alpha a bit better.
Unable to hold back, Clear let out a loud groan, running his fingers through his snowy-white hair in sheer frustration as he slouched forward on the couch. He barely noticed Aoba walking into the living room and giving him a slight pity look as the blue-haired male perceived the android’s uneasiness.
Not receiving any notice of his own presence, Aoba cleared his throat loud enough to snap Clear out of his contemplation and having him looked directly into his eyes. He finally got his attention. “Clear, I know this must have been hard for you but you shouldn’t think too much about it. You’ve tried everything to help Alpha out, and he still constantly rejects it.” Why would Clear had to go through the trouble to deal with a difficult brother like Alpha? The whole situation robbed so much mental drainage and piled on stress over time to the point where everyone ended up having migraines witnessing such a miserable scenario. “It’s his problem, not yours.”
“I know, Aoba-san. I know.” It was hard to keep himself from whining but with how everything was going, Clear had the right to voice out his distress. “But I can’t help it! I made myself the promise to make sure everything goes well for them and that they’ll be able to live normal lives.” The Alphas may be adaptable but Clear knew well they were still having a hard time to grasp onto this new thing called ‘life’. It was silly but, at the same time, understandable with the kind of environment they used to live in back at the Oval Tower. He knew he had no control to change their dark past but with the present, Clear might be able to do something. Taking the role as the big brother, it was his duty to show the right path for his two youngest brothers. And he knew that in order to change both the Alphas he needed to put his main focus on the sole person who had the most influential and arrogant between the two of them: Alpha.
“Clear.” It was hard for Aoba to say anything else after seeing the emotional outburst. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said that. Seeing you this anxious will only eat you alive someday.” Losing sleep or skipping meals may not have any dire effects on Clear but Aoba understood the emotional impact Clear had to go through. He was unable to bear to see anymore of Clear’s discouragement and could only wish for it to be over.
Clear smiled weakly in response. “It’s okay. I just wish...” Feeling drained, Clear shut his eyes and let his head fall backward on the cushion. “...I wish I have a better and close brotherly connection with Alpha, like what you and Sei have.” He became aware on the loss of the usual bounce and vigour voice he had. “To tell you the truth, I’m a bit envious.”
Hanging around with your sibling, having a good laugh, chatting, playing games, and other wondrous bonding activities were the list of things that the Seragaki twins had and the things Clear wished he could have; instead he was gifted with snarky remarks, fights, pranks, and the worse of all, ignoring him at all costs.
Honestly, Clear thought he would have a higher chance communicating with the Alphas through non-verbal methods, like telepathy or, in realistic terms, signals.
Signals...
Signals?
An idea suddenly clicked in after he repeatedly murmured the word under a hushed tone. No longer able to control his excitement with a plan fresh in his mind, Clear jumped off so fast it scared the life out of Aoba. With a bright, wide smile on his face, Clear turned his head to Aoba, who had not yet recovered from the initial shock, and said:

Name someone to see my character’s reaction.
Bonus/Optional: Type how they died. [ Murdered, Protecting, etc. ]
In the beginning there were two Alphas, both identical in any physical aspect. Created by the remarkable advance technology that only the Toue’s company possessed, the twins were awakened to a strange white, void world. This world was the Oval Tower and the person who owned it was Toue, their master.
Throughout their days they began to develop nasty personalities all thanks to him. Alpha was more of the leader-type: aggressive, troublesome, vicious, and at times, can be over-possessive. His twin, Alpha 2, revealed to be the opposite: level-headed, silent, and sneaky. Together they formed into very adaptable and witty android units, able to surpass any obstacles and strong in any form.
People who have seen them together would easily think that they were inseparable; they weren’t wrong, but there were occasional disagreements between the two AIs. Alpha 2 couldn’t handle any of his twin’s rashness while the other disliked his dullness. In the end, both would pretend their quarrel never happened and both returned back to their work.
One day, Alpha 2 was called for a programming experiment. It was a normal routine for them to follow this procedure to ensure they were up-to-date with the latest technology and programs in order to reach for absolute perfection. If neither achieved true perfection, both of them will be eradicated without any second thoughts.
Time passed by and his twin never came back. Alpha wondered what took so long, wondering if his non-talkative doppleganger was distracted by a book. Before he could think of anything else, his Coil began to beep. Glancing down on his wrist, a text written from his Master urged him to patrol one of the Platinum Jail’s districts. Unable to turn down the order, no matter how reluctant he felt, Alpha left the tower.
Silence filled the office as Alpha stood still in front of the desk, observing and waiting for Toue to finish his paperwork. After the android gave his report, his Master gave him the hand gesture of dismissal. But Alpha didn’t move at all; there was something that still bothered him. Toue raised his eyebrow at his “son’s” odd behaviour.
“Is there something wrong, Alpha?” Toue spoke in a gruff voice, smiling at the unexpected action of the android.
“It’s nothing, Master. I was just wondering…” Alpha stopped himself for a second, uncertain why he was having such difficulty in asking. “…It’s just, I have not seen or heard from Alpha 2 for quite some long time.”
Amusement touched the corner of Toue’s lips. “You must have known that Alpha 2 had to undergo a programming experiment, is that correct?” Alpha nodded; he already knew that kind of information.
Toue continued. “There was an unfortunate incident that happened. The new programming we were testing for quite some time obliterated his whole system, making him completely motionless and useless.” Rising from his seat slowly, still maintaining a firm grip on his walking stick, Toue walked past Alpha’s shoulder and stood directly at the door.
Before setting his foot outside the office, Toue finally spoke to the now terribly silenced and pallid android. “His body is already pulled apart, for extra parts of course. I hope you won’t disappoint me like your brother did.”
And like that he left, leaving Alpha alone in the office. “Of course.” It was a low and feeble reply, unheard to Toue’s ears.
Why should he feel uneasy and hushed right now? He could feel his throat tightened up, an unknown invisible pressure that kept on rising and rising until sounds became inaudible to his ears. Shaking his head, Alpha walked out of the office and head down the hallway, trying to find anything to distract his confused mind.

Send me a ‘†’ and my muse will sing your’s to sleep as your muse passes away
Sakura Nagashi - Utada Hikaru (song cover sung by Mitchel Matuszak, since the English lyrics are from him, not the official translation)
In. Out. In. Out
That was the weak breathing rhythm from Sei as he lay weakly on the hospital bed, slowly dying. Few days ago, Sei had to go through an experimental surgery, which was nothing new to him. There was always one ready for him here in Oval Tower. What he didn’t expect was that the surgery turned out to end badly, leaving him in a crucial state.
Breathing turned out to be a difficult task for him, but Sei tried his best to suck in the oxygen into his lungs through slow, painful gasps. He needed the assistance of machines to supple oxygen through oxygen therapy. Without any sort of medical care or treatment, Sei would have been dead by now. Despite being born and cursed with a fragile body and living a miserable life, Sei was still happy. Happy at the fact that the Alphas were taking care of him, although he wished they didn’t have to witness such a sad fate.
Opening his mouth slightly, Sei looked at them and smiled. “Alpha, Alpha 2.” He called them out with his low, weak voice. “Do you mind… if I ask you something? I hope it’s not selfish but could you sing me a song? It’ll make me feel better.”
The two stood there in silence but nodded. They cannot turn down a request at a moment like this. Standing on one side of the bed, one of them took a light hold on Sei’s hand while the other stroke carelessly through the black hair strands. This was the only comforting thing the Alphas could do for him.
Taking in a deep breath, their voices came out in a melodious sweet, yet sad tune.

As they continued to sing, a heavy sinking feeling built inside of them. They weren’t sure what it was, but it bothered them. A lot.

Gripping onto the touch felt on his hand, Sei shut his eyes with a smile. Slowly breathing, he listened to their song.

They could feel their song getting stronger. It was a strange but amazing feeling. An intense overwhelming sensation that left the androids confused on why they were experiencing it. What would you call this? They wanted to ask Sei but knowing it would disrupt their singing, the Alphas continued on.

Sei’s chest moved up and down slowly. He could feel his life sapping away, leaving him barely conscious. However, Sei could sense the Alphas’ singing. It was beautiful. He wanted to talk more with them but he didn’t have enough energy to do so.

The last line of the song was sung, the Alphas exhaled out loud. They were now left alone in this cold, silent white room. Looking back at the motionless body covered under the white bed-sheets, the twins leaned closely to Sei’s face and pressed their lips against the cold forehead. “Goodnight Sei,” the two whispered as if the other would wake up from his peaceful slumber.

Chapters: 1/?
Summary: Life was never fair to begin with; even though he was free from his past after the collapse of the Oval Tower, suffering still lingered around Sei. One day Sei was hit by a malady that causes him to lose his eyesight. Despite the unfortunate incident, Sei was still grateful with his friends and family he was blessed with. Alpha had to take certain actions to ensure the safety of the blind raven-haired male.

“Sei, be careful where you’re walking. Here, take my hand.”
A wavering hand reached up and gripped onto the arm that belonged to the familiar voice; the hand’s digits moved down towards the limb’s length until he finds the hand he was suppose to keep a hold on.
“That’s good. Now slowly walk down the stairs. Take your time.”
A foot shyly lifted off from the floor and carefully let his toes touched the first step of the staircase before resting the rest of the foot. The same procedure was repeated for each single step, making the entire walk down the stairs unbearably long and time-consuming. But Alpha had the patience and ended up with Sei safe and sound as the trip downstairs was finally over.
Taking in an intake of air, Alpha breathed out to express his relief that the trip downstairs didn’t end up horribly. “Okay. You made it safely.” Tightening his grip on Sei’s hand, the android guided the male towards the kitchen. He heard a soft chuckle escaped from Sei and when Alpha looked back at him, the feeble-looking male was showing his usual, pure smile. “Alpha, you’re such a worry-wart. The way you’re acting right now is similar to an over-protective parent.” Even though it was just a light humor to lighten the atmosphere, Alpha wasn’t at all happy to hear it. In fact, it only made his mood even worse than before.
It happened so fast. Sei woke up and was heading downstairs to help Tae with the house chores, nothing out of the usual. As he put himself to work, Sei noticed his vision began to look off to him but he ignored it, not wanting to trouble anyone in the household. While washing the dishes, black blotches appeared inside his field of vision, floating around like living microbes swimming through. Not knowing what was going on, Sei rubbed his eyes with the back of his hand, hoping to shoo away the pestering blotches. It only got worse as the black spots rimmed the vision, making it hard to detect the objects around in his peripheral vision. It was by luck that both Tae and Aoba were at home when Sei experienced the symptoms of vision loss and immediately called an ophthalmologist to check up on him.
Unfortunately Sei was diagnosed to have a degenerative eye disorder caused either by the abnormalities of the photoreceptors or the retinal pigment epithelium of the retina, which could progress to sight loss. The described symptoms looked similar to retinitis pigemntosa; however, the eye disease was said to be inherited, meaning Aoba would have it as well. The doctor also noticed other few eye abnormalities: scared ocular tissues and muscles. Sei knew the reason behind the internal eye scars was all thanks to the many years of experiments he had to go through back at the Oval Tower. Even though he was free, it seemed his phantom past was catching up towards him, a friendly reminder about his cursed fate he had for the past 23 years.
As for the Alphas, the two began their lives living with Clear -unfortunate to the twins’ part- ever since the tower collapsed and were brought back to life, thanks to Tae and her connections with an unknown person. Still remaining the same mischievous and mean duo they were before, the Alphas had their keylock removed and had a few re-programming steps to completely free themselves from Toue’s control. It was hard and confusing at first for the two androids, having this sort of weird and free life, no longer brainwashing people’s minds and following after their Master’s orders. For the longest time ever since they were created, they lived nothing but manipulating chess pieces in part of the monopolizing whole island game.
But going through the details about living the ordinary life wasn’t something that Alpha cared much to explain. It was mostly boring and there was barely any interaction, with the exemption with Clear and the rest of the Seregakis. Alpha never thought he would encounter such a fierce and intimidating elderly human such as Tae; it didn’t help each time he saw her, he was grimly reminded the first day meeting her and that damn frying pan. Back then everyone was surprised at Tae’s bold move to smack on Alpha’s head with the pan after throwing in his usual snarky remarks. Ever since that happened, the android kept his smarty remarks to himself and did as he was told by her. Man that was intense.
The current situation changed right after Sei’s incident. Alpha found himself temporarily living in the Seragaki residence, looking after Sei 24/7. His other two brothers did come over to help but knowing that the house cannot hold that many people, Alpha offered himself to stay until Tae finds a treatment to cure Sei’s vision impairment. There was still enough time as the progress of the blindness happened at a gradual rate, buying enough time for Tae to search around for information.
Pulling out a chair, Alpha carefully guided him towards it and gently pushed his shoulder to make Sei take a seat. “What do you want to eat? I’m pretty sure we have leftovers from last night. Here let me check.” Walking towards the fridge, he was about to pull the door’s handle before hearing Sei opening his mouth to voice out his unspoken words.
“It’s alright. I’m not really that hungry.” Rubbing his thumb over his fingers, Sei looked back to where he thought Alpha was standing, imagining the android’s disapproving frown. “Tea and some sweets sound good though right now.” Staring him for a long time, Alpha gave out a sigh before turning his back to him. “Alright. I’ll prepare the tea and take out Tae-san’s homemade doughnuts. I think there are some cream puffs as well.”
Pushing his sleeves up his arm, Alpha had the tea kettle filled up with water and waited until he heard the hissing sound of the steamy water vapour escaping through the snout. With a tea cup on his one hand and a green teabag sitting on the cup’s bottom surface, Alpha gently poured the warm water and let the tea seep for a few minutes before placing in front of Sei. “Here you go. I’ll bring the sweets shortly.” As he said that, Sei heard a clattering sound of a plate sat next to the tea cup.
Sei smiled. “Thanks Alpha.” He was about to lift both of his hands and reached for it but was immediately stopped by a sudden grasping hold.
“Sei. What did I tell you about handling hot beverages? Let me help you.”
“I’m not completely blind, Alpha. Don’t worry about it.” Sei gently tried to decline Alpha’s helping offer but it turned out to be impossibly. “I can somewhat see the cup in front of me.”
“Sei.” Alpha called out his name sternly. “I’m not buying that excuse, even if you see it.” Taking the cup within his hands, Alpha blew the green tea a few times before passing the edge of the cup closely to Sei’s lips. He took cautious sips but felt calm as the welcoming cascading warm liquid passed through the esophagus. It tasted wonderful.
After the tea was finished, Sei was allowed to eat the doughnuts and the cream puffs without the need of Alpha’s help. “Do you want some?” Munching on a doughnut, Sei handed another piece of the android. Alpha chuckled and shook his head. “Nah, I’m fine. By the way, you have some crumbs all over your face.”
“Huh? Where?” Blinking in confusion, Sei tried wipe of his face but wasn’t able to succeed.
“Not there. Over here, dummy.” A finger swiftly brushed out the tiny crumbs that were sitting closely to the corner of the mouth to Sei’s surprise. Alpha couldn’t help but grinning at the Seis’ offended expression. “Well then, who was dummy enough to jump around people’s roofs because he was bored out of his mind? Not to mention, try to sneak into my room late at night through the window.”
“Ouch. That truly hurts me, you know.” Laughing, Alpha carefully watched Sei finishing off his sweets but soon found himself staring through the window with a dazed expression.
How many days he has left before his vision completely gets destroyed?
