...but nothing happened

not that anyone has been asking but i got one (1) note on an old post recently and felt really guilty that i disappeared on folks without explanation so here’s what happened

so about a year ago i was really struggling to make ends meet, which you might have seen if you follow my art blog, @kamidoodles​. february of last year, a friend of mine approached me with a job opportunity with the company they were employed with, and i wound up getting the job. it started out as a very part time gig, really, maybe 10-12 hours a month; but eventually i started taking on more and more responsibilities and it has essentially become a full time job (even though i’m still technically part time under contract, there’s just not guaranteed full time hours constantly. but there’s a lot of work).

in any case, i’ve been super busy and that combined w/ my struggles with fibromyalgia has made it difficult for me to draw.

so what’s going on now?

i’m working, and also looking for full time opportunities so i can get some sweet sweet perks like health insurance and a 401(K). also i’m moving soon.

what does that mean for this blog?

to be honest I don’t know. I’d love to continue this when I can, I just don’t know when that will be. if you’re interested in my occasional doodles, have a follow of @kamidoodles or otherwise follow me on @kamibanani for cats, memes, league of legends, and updates on my personal life

I CHOOSE YOU, MAGIK--- hey where’d you go?

HELLO DAILY MAGIKARP FRIENDS,

Phew. So it’s been a hectic, hectic time, and daily-magikarp has fallen by the wayside. I still have all of your lovely asks to draw, but since I don’t really receive submissions on this blog (maybe not that many karplovers out there?) it’s hard to keep the blog going when I’m unable to draw.

The biggest news is that I have a new job! It’s a fairly relaxed job at the moment though there IS room for adding more on to my workload, which has already been discussed, so my time to draw may be a little iffy for a bit still.

My first priority are my outstanding commissions over on my regular artblr, @kamidoodles. Next, when I can, I’ll queue up more magikarp doodles from the asks you have sent me.

Submissions are always open so please feel free to submit anything magikarp related: your stories, screenshots, photos, art, whatever! You’re also free to submit links to other peoples’ work (make sure that it’s properly sourced if you do!) or things that make you think of magikarp.

what happened to this blog?

i'm so tired y'all, from personal stuff and work stuff. i don't get many submissions, just asks for art. i'd love to keep this going. please feel free to submit any magikarp posts and i'll draw new stuff when i'm able.

Show Me Your Karps!

I am, unfortunately, behind on asks due to the holidays. I have work to do as well, and while I have each and every one of your (quite frankly adorable) messages saved in my karps folder, I don’t currently have time to work on them (I’m trying to squeeze them in between commissions).

I’d love to see your fishy blubs! Send me photos of your in-game karps, your doodles, your plushies, whatever! I’ll queue them all up.

I’ve also changed the submission page so you can send me links to pre-existing posts, whether they be yours or just a particularly good karp someone else drew (if they’re not your karps, please link to the ORIGINAL post so the OP gets proper credit & traffic).

In about six hours for me, but I know celebrations have already started.
