⌈ AVAN JOGIA , 29 , CISMALE , ENHANCED SPEED ⌋ oh , of course you know about ZAIN HARGREEVES ! you know , NUMBER 3 of the SPARROW ACADEMY ? dad keeps saying that HE is MALADROIT & AMENDABLE , but pogo would say they’re SANGUINE & DILIGENT . they’ve always reminded me of stacks of books with tattered pages, the smell of a freshly blown out candle, a gust of cool wind blowing through a hot day, and empty grand old library filled with undiscovered books , even more now they’re under pressure . i can’t wait to see how this pans out !
hello, i’m raquel. below you’ll find out about zain! <3
click here to see his stats
more about about enhanced speed:
“ User can move much faster than the average member of their species, beyond what can be emulated via natural training and with little to no maintaining. However, this power is not without any ill effects, as it can strain the body, although some users may be resistant or even immune to the effects of high speed travel, including acceleration, friction, g-force, inertia, etc. User has drastically enhanced reaction speed, allowing them to dodge bullets, catch flies in mid-air, dodge and maneuver around complex attacks, catch falling objects, block detriments and react instantaneously to what others take more time to react to. ”
pitfalls: He’s a bit inconsistent and unfocused, definitely capable of a lot more than he ever does due to his fear of messing up. Though it takes alot longer than average, he can over-tire which essentially slows him down immensely.
more about zain hargreeves:
Maladroit; clumsy. Really, comes from four / five missions gone nearly wrong due to tripping over untied shoes or his own two feet. Reginald has chewed him out over this more times than he can count. A lot better nowadays, but his reputation still follows him among the sparrow kids. Amendable: One of the more agreeable sparrow kids. If you pester him enough, he’ll likely just do it. Sanguine: Optimistic! Always the one to round up his siblings and try ( and obviously fail / likely get in his own battles ) to mediate arguments. Diligent: Cares about what he brings to the team, despite often feeling that he doesn’t bring nearly as much as his siblings do. Tries to compensate by bringing his intelligence to the table. An extension of his powers, he reads like crazy -- probably knows more useless ( until they become useful ) facts than anyone in the world.
⌈ RITU ARYA , 29 , CIS FEMALE , POWER MIMICRY ⌋ oh , have you heard about LILA PITTS ? they showed up at the academy 2 DAYS AGO all the way from LONDON ? i got the impression that SHE is UNPREDICTABLE & DISHONEST , but they might be ADAPTABLE & RESOURCEFUL for all we know . they remind me of unrestrained laughter in the dead of night, smiling pretty with a boot against your throat, wild things by alessia cara, and the saying anything you can do, i can do better , but maybe all this chaos will change that . i can’t wait to see how this pans out !

THE BASICS.
lila’s five years old, ironically, when her parents are murdered by five hargreeves. he’s a time assassin, assigned by the commission at the request of the handler. she won’t find this out until later, as paperwork was forged to suggest it was someone else who made the order. the handler takes the little girl in as her own and trains her to not only hold her own in battle, but to use her powers.
she’s one of the 43 children who were born with special abilities. she has the ability to mimic the abilities of anyone around her. anything you can do, i can do better, crops to mind. the drawback is that it’s limited to one power at a time so if she’s ganged up on, there’s a vulnerability there.
personality wise, lila’s a bit of a sponge. maybe it’s the mimicry, or growing up with few people, but she takes on some of the traits or ticks of people around her. she’s also very impulsive and often thinks with the emotional side of her brain more so than the logical. she’s incredibly loyal, to the point where it’s almost compulsive obedience, and she strives to impress and make the people who care about her proud in her decisions. a need to be valued, to be seen as an asset, plagues her. it’s a problem. she’s also quite childish, probably a side-effect of being robbed of a childhood, and doesn’t always act like the mature adult she’s supposed to be.
THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY S2.
on assignment from her mother, lila finds herself in the same psychiatrist hospital as diego hargreeves. she gets close to him, maybe closer than she should have, and helps him escape. while with diego, she learns of five’s plans in this timeline to try and stop the apocalypse that’s followed them to the 60s.
long story short, she helps the handler further her agenda, lowkey betrays diego but also ... tries to save him? makes sure he’ll be safe? she loves him, in a weird, kind of toxic way, but in her mind the ends justify the means. her feelings for him vs her loyalty to the handler got kind of muddy towards the end there. either way, her bringing him to the commission helps the umbrella academy figure out who and what starts the apocalypse and they’re able to stop it again.
the handler, however, decides the umbrella academy need to be done away with. she tries to kill them all and in the final showdown, the big secret gets revealed: it was actually the handler who ordered the deaths of lila’s parents. when lila confronts her surrogate mother, she takes a bullet for it. the rest of the academy, in turn, meet similar fates before five jumps back to stop it.
in the new timeline, lila never gets to hear the truth. the last of the swedes shoot the handler and so she runs off with the briefcase. destination unknown.
WHAT’S NEXT?
with her surrogate mother dead, and answers unknown, lila pitts has devoted her time to finding the other twenty-nine gifted children born in october 1989. she drops them off at the academy’s doorstep, willinglyish escorted, so that they come together. for what, or against who, she’s not entirely sure yet. she’s also not aware yet of the damage done to this timeline by the actions of everyone in the 60s.
⌈ THOMAS DOHERTY , 29 , CIS MALE , PAIN MANIPULATION ⌋ oh , have you heard about AVERY MCCABE ? they showed up at the academy FOUR DAYS ago all the way from SCOTLAND ? i got the impression that HE is VINDICTIVE & HAUGHTY , but they might be SCRUPULOUS & POLITE for all we know . they remind me of blood dripping down knuckles and onto a lit cigarette, late nights at 24 hours coffee shops but with rum in the coffee cup instead, the sound of a motorcycle followed by the smell of diesel and black eyes in a mugshot, staring blankly at the camera , but maybe all this chaos will change that . i can’t wait to see how this pans out !
Ten Easy Steps to Creating A Monster
Step One: You are born to parents who have not prepared for your arrival. In fact, they didn’t even know that you were coming. Just one day, you showed up, bringing pain and chaos to an otherwise idyllic life. Your sister, McKenzie, and your parents, Fiona and Errol, don’t know what to expect from you. Your mother hadn’t been pregnant when they day began and all of a sudden, she had a newborn and a man offering her money for you. She didn’t take it. You almost wished she had growing up.
Step Two: Your powers manifest in a way that no one is ready for. Just like the day you were born, you brought pain to your family, though this was something you could control. It wasn’t something they realized right off, that the random bursts of pain happened when you were scared or upset and lashing out. The pieces fell together slowly but surely, by the time you were three and throwing temper tantrums, they realized that you weren’t normal.
Step Three: Your power grows and if you want something and are told no, it’s only a matter of time until the pain becomes too much for your parents to handle. One night, while you slept, clutching the latest stuffed animal you had been bought when your lower lip had begun to tremble and tears threatened to fall, your mother packs a bag. She packs one for your sister as well. She leaves a note for your father, explaining, but when you wake up to your father trying to hide tears and your mom and sister nowhere to be found, you don’t understand. He doesn’t tell you that they left because of you.
Step Four: Life marches on, even if things don’t go back to normal. Normality was never your family’s specialty to begin with, though you would blame yourself for that later in life. Your father would attempt to hold out in the face of a tantrum or stand his ground when your temper would get the better of you, but the pain would increase, debilitating, almost blinding. Every time it would get worse and you were unaware it was happening. It wasn’t until your father passed out from the pain and woke up ten minutes later that you knew the truth. You’re special, but you have to learn to control your powers, your gift. You’re only five.
It feels more like a curse.
Step Five: For your dad’s sake, you do your best to control it growing up. At eight, you turn your pain onto yourself so you won’t hurt your teacher after she belittles you in front of the class. At twelve, you get bullied at a school dance and instead of letting your powers out, you run away to jeers calling you weak, a coward, pathetic. You’re sure to be an easy target now that they know you won’t fight back. All of your progress, struggling with control is for nothing. Your dad dies two weeks after your fifteenth birthday, suffering from a heart attack. He asks you to bring his ID to the hospital and find the note your mother left. After eleven years, it shows some wear and tear but is readable. You don’t make it back to the hospital in time. Your father dies without you.
Step Six: The note confirms what you’ve feared your entire life. She left because of you. Because she was too afraid of your powers. Because she was too scared of what you were capable of to learn how to raise you. There was never a bond formed like there was with his sister, the kid she wanted. But when the hospital reached out to have her take in the son she’d left behind, she did so. Whether it was out of obligation or guilt, you don’t know. For awhile, you’re despondent, the last few weeks had been hell. Your father died, you found out your mother left because of you. When you finally stopped being sad and stopped being angry, it was determined. You’d give her a real reason to be afraid of you.
Step Seven: You start experimenting, just in little ways. Inflicting pain on the “popular” kids bullying a student a few years below them, cutting the teacher off with a pain to the ribs when she went off on the class for bad test grades. Eventually you grew bolder, your powers grew stronger and you started to hone your focus, able to chose not only where you inflicted pain but what kind of pain. The pompous football player that had wronged you as a twelve year old felt like he’d broken his leg and every time his coach convinced him he hadn’t, the pain would start up again. The boy you’d had a summer romance with, only to turn around during the school year and say it was just for a laugh felt a pain in his heart whenever he so much as breathed in your direction. You thought it was fitting.
Step Eight: No one could prove that you were behind the incidents, but people put the pieces together when you were at the scene of every incident. You are expelled and move to another school, only to pull the same antics only to find yourself in the headmaster’s office all over again. Every meeting, your mother was brought in and every meeting, you would stare at her, as if daring her to speak against you. If they wanted to think you were a monster, you’d show her one.
Step Nine: Instead of doing the same dance with schools all over again, you dropped out, giving up entirely. You’d make money a better way and began figuring out how to use your powers in reverse. If you could cause pain you someone, control their pain, wouldn’t that work in reciprocal against yourself? With a bit of time and a lot of practice, you figure out how to turn your pain off, feeling nothing. When you found your way into an underground boxing ring, you start using it to your advantage. Being able to punch without feeling pain in your knuckles, taking hits to the floor only to get up right away because the pain didn’t hold you down. Worse, you started over exerting yourself, using your powers on your opponents to increase their pain while keeping yourself numb. It’s draining but you don’t care. The ring gets raided by the police after a fight and you’re too tired to run. At this point, you don’t even try. You go willingly. They charge you and take your mugshot. You pay a fine. And continue on your merry way.
Step Ten: You move out at nineteen, still boxing, still over exerting yourself. You take drugs to get yourself enough energy to make it back to your empty flat, usually with a beautiful girl or a handsome boy on your arm. You drink too much. If your father could see you, you imagine how disappointed he would be. They thought of you as a monster, were convinced you were one from the time you were a child. It may have been a slow process but they got what they wanted.
They think you Frankenstein’s Monster, only they don’t realize they are Frankenstein. In fearing a monster, they created one.
tl;dr:
so ... that’s avery. he’s an asshole. i apologize in advance.

she doesn’t want to know truly , it’s one of those things where she’s like ‘what’s the point ? ’ ‘what would it change ? ‘ nothing .
the ability to see the future has always been a kind of annoyance to her , it started off simple whether it be what was going to happen that day . or what to expect . sometimes it’s a blessing . sometimes they just aren’t clear enough for her to determine . and if someone makes a decision or does something differently . it changes .
it’s not too easy of a thing to determine . sometimes touching things or sometimes nothing at all . triggers it and she’s learned over the years how to use it properly .
but it still can be a frustration .
she truly does love and adore being apart of the sparrow academy , it gave her purpose . her ability gives her a purpose .

if she could pick anywhere in the world to live , it’d be on a beach . where she could go for morning walks and stick her toes in the sand . and just literally ground herself .
as a child she loved climbing onto everything . quite a handful , and climbing into trees . something she likely still does when she wants me time . and with her phone so she can jam to music .
she is pretty decent at hand to hand combat . maybe took martial arts ? maybe still does .
the first real relationship she had was as a teenager . a secret boyfriend ( a neighbor maybe ?? ) someone she considered to be her friend . and it ended abruptly when she seen this boy with another girl .
it broke her heart and swore her off dating . at fear of having her heart broken . and another reason she is afraid to fall in love . having her heart broken .
if she could have any job , she’d want to be a florist so she could put together flower bouquets or a radio host / dj .
this is so long ! but i hope y’all love charlotte as much as me , feel free to message me here or on discord <3
oh, have you heard about CALLEN DAVENPORT ? they showed up at the academy ELEVEN DAYS ago all the way from CALIFORNIA ? i got the impression that SHE is OBSTINATE & AGGRESSIVE , but they might be HUMOROUS & LOYAL for all we know . they remind me of the sounds of children fighting on the playground , hastly made ponytails that fall apart with every move , a will strong enough to move mountains , wolves gnashing their teeth at the sight of a threat , but maybe all this chaos will change that . i can’t wait to see how this pans out !
* tw : death , car accidents .
welcome to my absolute mess and / or disaster child’s life , please buckle your seatbelt and keep your hands inside at all times !
oh boy , here we go . so , callen has no idea who her birth parents are — she was put up for adoption the day after she was born and really , if reginald had been faster ? her mother would have yeeted her right off with him . really , no one could blame her considering she’d gotten married the day before . what a way to start a honeymoon , huh ? alas , it didn’t work out like that and baby callen was adopted when she was a little over six months old by a lovely couple in california .
things were good and simple for the first few years of her life , and then shit started to hit the fan — children throw tantrums , but callen’s seemed to be a little more . . . explosive than normal , quite literally . when it was the coffee machine over an argument over breakfast , no one thought anything of it . when it was the china cabinet , they figured it had to be some sort of issue with their electrics . when it was the swingset at a playground , jeremy and olivia davenport realised that maybe their daughter was a little . . . off .
research didn’t help them , and the alternative of trying to find someone to help was terrifying — for their safety as well as callen’s . so , regretfully , they landed on anger management therapy from a very young age and hoped that it’d do some good at keeping callen’s emotions in check . update : it really , really didn’t . maybe it’s the stubborn nature the girl had , or maybe it was the fact that she was being treated in a way that wasn’t usual , but she grew up with a biting temper and a short fuse . that being said ? she was also polite , fair and helpful — even though teenage years are hard and complicated , and there were definite headbutts ? callen and her parents got along well enough .
they kept callen’s . . . quirk a secret , hoped for the best and as long as she didn’t get too riled up there were no issues . life went as normal until the car accident — a freak moment that happens too often , too much speed and a red light run and suddenly everything was spinning . jeremy and olivia died , but it turns out that when everything explodes into flames around you and you yourself are a walking bomb ? you’re sturdier than your average joe .
while she isn’t in any way immune to external fire , after using her powers callen has a few minutes of resistance and that was enough for her to crawl through the broken window and out of the car with only a broken arm , a lot of bruises and minimal burns . the mental impact of survivor’s guilt was far more extensive .
it . . . wasn’t a good time , but thankfully callen was eighteen and her parents’ money kept her afloat on the material side . on the psychological side of things , she’s spent the last eleven years of her life wondering if she was the one who caused the accident and while she knows it’s highly unlikely , she also can’t be sure . she got tougher , more pragmatic and cynical , less patient and gentle with her words . she’s still a fair , loyal , humorous person but her parents’ passing lit a fire behind her eyes that coated her personality in a thick leather-like layer of aggressiveness . therapy helped a lot , but some things you don’t shake off .
learning to control her power was hard , and tedious , and she’s still not sure she can do it properly but there have been very little accidents in the last decade , so she counts that as a win .
she isn’t sure why she went into law , but it channels her aggressiveness and sharpness into a positive , it pays well and she’s good at it , so callen figures it’s as good of a job as any . it’s not a passion , but it’s good , and solid , and that’s all you really need sometimes .
taking up lila’s offer was . . . impulsive and quite frankly , dumb . she’s not sure what the hell she’s doing , or why , but she knows that she’d never be satisfied if she didn’t see for herself that there’s others . plus , she had more than enough vacation days to burn through , so why not ?
she holds a bit of resentment towards both the academies , not on a personal level but due to that nagging sense of jealousy that comes from seeing that they weren’t alone , that there was an element of shared struggle that kept them together . does she wish she’d been adopted by good ol’ reggie ? no . but she wishes she’d had other people like her around .
⌈ SOPHIE SKELTON , 26 , FEMALE ⌋ has anyone seen NATALIE RIVERS around ? i don’t think they’re part of the madness , all i know is that SHE is a BARISTA from NEW YORK . they seem like they are SECRETIVE & HEADSTRONG , but they might be OPEN MINDED & CARING too for all we know . they remind me of a light breeze on a balcony in the summer , shy smiles from pink-stained lips , adding cinnamon and whipped cream and mini marshmallows to your hot chocolate , humming without a discernible melody , i hope that doesn’t change soon !
Some facts about Natalie:
Her mother is a lawyer who does confidential work that she’s never told Natalie about

She has made everyone in the band a friendship bracelet and they wear them for good luck at their gigs

She has a brother who is a year younger than her, but they aren’t close, though they were before Natalie graduated high school
She can’t dance
Natalie always wanted to try roller derby but never had the guts
⌈ JENNA COLEMAN , 29 , CIS FEMALE , WOUND TRANSFERENCE ⌋ oh , have you heard about KAYLEIGH DAVIS ? they showed up at the academy 1 DAY ago all the way from PENNSYLVANIA ? i got the impression that SHE is CONDESCENDING & BULLHEADED , but they might be PROTECTIVE & COMPASSIONATE for all we know . they remind me of holding hot caramel apple cider by a bonfire in fall , casually dancing to a favorite song with a glass of wine and a nice buzz , a book that is creased down the spine and worn around the edges from frequent rereads , and a patched up stuffed animal dripping wet from being left outside in the rain , but maybe all this chaos will change that . i can’t wait to see how this pans out !
Kayleigh stood in front of the door to the academy hesitantly. She rubbed her arm as her nerves kicked in. She seemed to be stuck in place and lost in her thoughts.
It wasn't that she thought she shouldn't be there. She knew she was different. Her mother tried to hide it as best she could, but it always made itself known. Her emotions would get the best of her, she'd just want to help, and she'd lose control.
She was three when it first came to light. Her mother had sliced her hand cutting up fruit for snacks. She cried out as anyone would, but stopped abruptly. Kayleigh smiled a toothy toddler grin at her mother's perplexed face until the pain in her hand took hold. Screaming ensued, and blood smeared her mother's pants her little hand had been steadying herself. Her mother patched her up, and put her in her room. This was the start of the separation between them. The bitterness and anger and resentment would soon follow. It was better than the sadness that overtook her sometimes though; that was the worst. And she felt responsible. She was responsible.
She tried to bury the uneasy feeling in her stomach as she stood frozen in her spot. These thoughts were not helping. She closed her eyes tightly.
It wasn't that this was a new setting either. She was always on the move throughout her life; keeping her ability hidden meant picking up and moving at the drop of a hat.
She remembered how angry her mother had gotten after an incident in school. She was feeling down, and her friend decided to be a joker for her entertainment. While the intentions were good, the chemistry lab was not the best setting. The burner caught his sleeve quickly. Kayleigh acted on instinct to put out the flame. He was clearly in shock, and his face tore her apart. She quickly grabbed his hand. Steering pain coursed through her as the marks began to appear. She was packed to move by nightfall.
Maybe it was the openness of it all. She had grown up repressing this for all those years. An unknown threat always lingered and she needed to be vigilant. At least that's what her mother told her before she passed.
But she was found now. Exposed without incident. By somebody special. Different like her. And now...
Maybe this would be for the best. What did she have to lose? An entry level desk job that she kept to pay bills. A dingy apartment with nothing but a few boxes she never bothered to unpack. The stray cat she fed by the dumpster.
⌈ JODIE COMER , 30 , CIS WOMAN , FIRE MANIPULATION ⌋ oh , have you heard about VICTORIA HARRIS ? they showed up at the academy 14 DAYS ago all the way from LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND ? i got the impression that SHE is TEMPERMENTAL & OBSESSIVE , but they might be DRIVEN & CHARMING for all we know . they remind me of the sound of heels against tile as you pace back and forth , the defeaning murmurs from the back of an old crumbling bar , going to war with an aim but no strategy & lipstick marks on the butt of a cigarette , but maybe all this chaos will change that . i can’t wait to see how this pans out !
Victoria Harris was born on the twelfth hour of the first day of October, 1989. This would have been an entirely normal occurrence had her mother been pregnant before the day of her birth. Working through college, Norah Harris had no time for a child and no care for one either, but who else was she supposed to turn to? She had heard of a man buying children, and she didn`t want her baby (strange or not) falling into his seemingly dodgy paws. And so she kept her.
Growing up, Victoria`s life was an ever-constant struggle of trying to maintain normality - being forced into sports and after-school activities to try to make friends, working part-time jobs to help make ends meet, sitting exams that made her head hurt. Sometimes, there was the odd blip (an overdue book bursting into flames, for example, or the singeing of a rival`s hair), but nobody tended to bat an eyelid. It was Liverpool, after all, and stranger things had happened.
Norah passed when Victoria hit 19, and with her mother gone, all other assets were too. They hadn`t owned their house in the first place, and with her mother`s income no longer keeping them afloat? The pyromaniac had to couch surf her way through University, where she worked her butt off to get the position that she wanted; A secondary school humanities teacher. She had never felt different at school, everyone had always been their own version of strange, and the feeling of fitting in was euphoric enough for the young woman to never want to leave - and she never would have, had it not been for one Lila Pitts.
