I am often asked when I shot photos for the first time. This photo of Del Mar Skate Ranch local, Kyle Jensen in February, 1979 was the result of borrowing my roommate’s Canon. He loaded a roll of Kodachrome 64 slide film for me with the instructions, “Have your back to the sun.” I got the film back from the lab and after that I was hooked.
