I love playing dnd, cause sometimes ill set up an encounter w/out checking the cr of my enemies, then find out the CR 13 creature is prolly a small bit too strong for my level 3 party

watching a dnd video about the dm needing to balance stuff well for encounters, and having intense flashbacks to the time i
made an entire magic system to allow for antimagic water to be necromantic and evil but also healing and purifying
set up a boss fight where the characters had weeks to prepare for an ambush on a gaurd tower in enemy territory
allowed their artificer whatever macguffins they could think of
was very clear that they did not have to do this, it was a player-guided mission they came up with doing themselves.
made the walls of the tower out of basically just healing potions and they STILL almost died because they refused to drink any of the healing potions because they thought they were going to have lasting negative effects And I got yelled at for making it too hard
